I understand the reason why you removed the difficulty from nightfalls and made them another generic strike with less than rewarding loot. I don't agree not you. I miss the challenge of the old nightfalls. I wish they would come. I get that they didn't cater to a portion of Destiny players, but it provided a rewarding experience for players who actually wanted a challenge. I liked the difficulty. I embraced the challenge. That's what kept me coming back to Destiny in year 1. That's what kept my clan-mates coming back. Most of them ditched Destiny when the nightfall difficult was changed. Defeating Omnighoul during the nightfall felt very rewarding. I also enjoyed the glowing light over our head that said, 'we did it'.
But, the nightfall difficulty is never coming, and I have given up any expectations of it ever coming back
Now you're going to removed the Iron Banner bounties because some player can't reach them. Hadn't you already simplified them? Reaching a 10 kill streak was actually a fun challenge for me. It was never a goal I couldn't reach, and I am a bad player. Just look at my k/d.
I mean, I like that you're thinking about the player base, but keep some challenges in the game. Don't have the Raid be the only challenging thing in the game for the first two weeks or so. It's okay if there are more activities for the more hardcore-difficulty devoted fans of Destiny that some players won't be able to accomplish.
I can only imagine that your next move will be to allow players to have infinite losses on their trials card, and reward them with loot from the Light House just for simply getting 9 wins in total.

They need to pick a random raid a week and have flawless raider bounty attached. Drops loot you can only get by doing this. The loot being specific to that weeks raid.

4 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 9/13/2016 2:07:05 PMThe older Nightfalls weren't so much a test of skill as they were a test of patience. Let's be honest, most Nightfall encounters boiled down to camping in a corner or safe zone so you don't get obliterated by enemies spamming the crap out of burn-amplified projectiles. Not really my definition of a proper "challenge". It was more annoying than anything else.

2 RepliesI don't think you thought this through when you typed and posted this, leaving because of no challenge in nightfall? Do you know how stupid that sounds?

Y1 Nightfalls were something to work towards. Newer players didn't have elemental primaries and helms of saint-14 so when you entered a NF in Y1, without experience and powerful weapons, it was challenging. The pressure of not wiping because you'll get sent to orbit, made the experience tense and fun. The rewards of exp boost and a visible blue flame was like a money shot, so to speak. PROOF, that you'd done the deed. That the NF was one of the few ways to get Exotics in Y1 made it all the more, worthwhile to go. Once we all had Gallys and Elemental damage of every type in every slot tho...the NF and Crota and Vault all got easy to the point where you could solo Crota. And in y1, people that can solo crota could solo the NF. I guess my point is, the challenge was associated with being undergeared for the NF. When you were below 150 light in y1, it was hard but once you hit 170...easy peasie. In y2 When the NF was what...280? It was tough, but now...we're all like 335s and it's easy peasie. And we know this so there goes the awe.

1 ReplyHaha there was a challenge to the year 1 nightfalls?
-
3 RepliesNightfall rewards are leagues better now than they were in Year One.
-
No offence mate but aren't they bringing out a new no checkpoints coe siva type thing in roi?
-
1 ReplyThere should be a PVE activity that is as difficult to achieve as going flawless in Trials.
-
I really think that trials thing will be implemented soon to be honest.
-
Very true
-
I'm gotta ask. How many people read this like a software agreement and read the first sentence or two then clicked yes or no?
-
Lol, the iron banner bounties were indeed easy, would finish them on all characters in around 2 days.
-
2 RepliesA difficult challenge that only the great of players can complete deserves an equally great reward.
-
I don't think they are any easier. When nightfall was solar or void and you literally could put on full solar weapons or void weapons, that was easy.

Use an all blue set of gear thats what I do to increase The challenge. Or you and your team could run a no heavy strategy. This game is more about the people I meet and run with than just some blue flames. Although those flames,,,Mmmmmm.

Y1 nightfalls were kind of a joke. And I never had elemental primaries or gally. They were, as many have said, a test of patience. Kings fall, as a whole was kind of a joke as well. You're fighting your way to some super evil being and you just gotta solve some puzzles.... For the most part, those puzzles are easy. So in general, even though I'll keep playing the game is getting easier each release, which sucks.
-
1 ReplyWhen will it stop? Nightfalls have never been more difficult. Just because you don't get sent to orbit doesn't make them easier, just less of a walkthrough. I solo ran all year 1 nightfalls, this year there are some I refuse to solo. Quit crying...the loot isn't worse than year 1 either. Exotics still drop and it was again the best loot you could get. Geezus people..
-
Your poll choices hurt my brain.
-
1 ReplyThe nightfall was one of my favorite experiences of year one, and i think I've only done 3 total nightfalls in year two. One of them was just for GoM farming, and the other two were the first two weeks of TTK. There's just no enjoyment in nightfalls anymore.
-
3 RepliesDifficult challenge: -Sherpa new/under-leveled people through a flawless raid. -Try to do a speed run wearing Halloween masks. -Go flawless in trials with only blue gear. They took away the flames, not your imagination
-
I want them to be easier after the latest nerf. We are using water pistols most of the time now so harder bosses will just make it unplayable. Bond brothers... Pre-nerf(s) a good solar fusion or heavy was good for ads. Now you run out of ammo just killing a few. The guardians are going through austerity cuts on their weapons... Don't make it harder for them!
-
The real problem & challenge is people still haven't learned how to jump on their alternate characters!!!!
-
5 RepliesEdited by Aerios: 9/12/2016 8:21:27 PMStop saying this. Nightfalls back then were 10x times easier. Pre nerf Gjallarhorn + black hammer on solar burn? Everyone having an elemental primary? Nightfalls commonly being multi burn? Trials was also 10x times easier since there was no specific matchmaking.
-
old nightfalls were easy too
-
Agree the whole pve should Be harder

7 RepliesSolo Atheon or Black Spindle mission for a challenge
