I AM NOT FROM THE US!!!
Why do people have to explain everything to you in this place
So I've been playing Destiny with two other guys regularly, for a while now.
One of them I know from the 360 days, back in HoW and the other has been off and on for a while, but became a steady team mate this last spring.
I play with these guys daily. We chit chat about everything and nothing. We also live in kind of the same general area of the country.
Last night we finally met up and grabbed our first beer together. It was so strange to watch.
Here's this kid that just finished high school. Then there's this tall skinny dude in his mid 20's and a 32 year old man. Sitting in a bar, talking for 3 hours straight. Laughing and teasing each other about stuff from a video game. If anyone tried to eavesdrop they would not be able to make out what the -blam!- we were saying. So funny.
I had never met them before in real life, but like, as soon as we saw each other we just started yapping on and on. It wasn't like "Oh I've never seen this person in my life. This is awkward". No. It was like we were in party chat being business as usual.
A great evening and I think we bonded even more.
There, just wanted to share this with everyone :) Destiny is so much more than just another video game.

That's really cool! My clan consists of people from the UK and Ireland; I'm the only American. If I ever take a trip to Europe hopefully I'll get to meet them in person.

You had a beer right out of high school? Nice try

3 RepliesSame thing happened to me. I met this person on halo, and this person also happened to go to my rival high school. We met a few years after, and she is my wife now. Funny how things like this happen. Something so very drastically small, like my buds inviting me to hang out, could have prevented us from ever meeting.

Kinda funny this thread was made because last night me and some of my clan went to see my girls show and it was pretty fun we are all about the same age but it was pretty cool. We talked a lot and had a few drinks and it was cool. I think meeting other who you play video games with often helps you guys as a team if you are able to meet.

I found out one of the people I play with lives about 15 minutes from where I do. And I didn't even meet him through location matchmaking. I found him on lfg.

Back in my MW2 days I had a group that always played together, one guy I grew up with but the others were just online buds. Two guys in my group lived in Dallas and they always joked about me coming to visit. Turns out on a cross country road trip I asked if I could stay with them. Ended up being some of the coolest dudes I've ever met and was one of the most memorable experiences. Lesson being, if you get along with guys in your online squads they likely are pretty cool in real life as well. Obviously use your head, but I'm still a lil sad my old team didn't follow me to Xbox one back when i got it, and now on Destiny. All my old group either plays Division or CoD exclusively it seems.

Cool. Closest I ever came to was a friend at school who played destiny to. We played together in xbox360 sometimes

Congrats! ' I've had a similar experience with one of my team after we found out we lived in the same city. We met up during a festival since we were both already there. Same as ya'll it clicked as if we were playing still. Now we hang out about once a week. lol
