Reviews of No Man's Sky are a mixed bag. No Man's Sky is clearly a non-traditional game. However, No Man's Sky costs $60, so there seems to be an expectation it will deliver as much as a $60 game. The game reminds me so much of Minecraft, yet Minecraft is a $20 game. I wonder if No Man's Sky would have better review scores if it were a $30 game.
This isn't a hypothetical either. All games eventually go on sale, and I wouldn't be surprised to see No Man's Sky for a deep discount by Christmas. That's when I'll buy it.
Vote and discuss.

It has hundreds of hours worth of gameplay. As long as I get twenty hours out of a game, it's worth full price. People said Overwatch wasn't worth full price. I've put in a lot of time on that game and still play daily.

It's 30 bucks worth, I would be glad if they add stuff for a while, it's all I play for days but I'm bored, the trophies are the only thing that keep me playing
-
2 RepliesRight now I'd say it's on the $30 mark but it seems like one of those game where they plan on adding more with time making it worth more

Edited by Green Twister: 8/14/2016 9:50:04 PMi think it deserves the full price but thats just me.

1 ReplyI think it is worth $60 for such a grand game. Literally space exploration with almost no limits. An entire Galaxy you roan and search for planets and other lifeforms and it will always be something different. Considering what the devs went through and how massive this game actually is I think $60 is fair. Not even the devs know how big the game really is.

7 RepliesThere is a sea of games out there. A literal ocean of games. No Man's Sky is better than an easy 80% of games that are full priced. So no. It's more "worth it" than so much of the nonsense these days, or any day really.

3 RepliesI think it's worth the $60, but I understand why some people don't. And I think this game's biggest problem is that Sony and Hello Games let the hype and people's expectations run way too far away before they started trying to reel them in. People were expecting the next revolution in gaming, like what Mario 64 did for for gaming, and this isn't that, nor was it ever advertised as that. But when Sony and Hello Games didn't come out and squash these crazy rumors and expectations people's imaginations ran away. Then when they finally did start to tell people what this game was really going to be like, it was too late, a huge number of people were already on the hype train. This game will do well when it goes on sale, I wouldn't recommend it to just any random person at $60 just because this game isn't for everybody. I would, however, highly recommend that you play this game at some point, not just watch it streamed or something, because there is something intangible to the gameplay that makes it fun and compelling. You want to find that crashed ship or that next multi-tool, or that rare ass element that you have no idea where it is. But you won't get any of that from just watching somebody play it, and more likely than not you're going be turned off and decide it's just a boring ass game.

2 RepliesI'd rather pay 30$ than 60$ for almost anything that isn't The Witcher 3 or Skyrim.
-
3 RepliesImo, as bad as it is in a general sense of playability, It still beats most AAA games out there. Which is really sad.
-
1 ReplyIf the game retains its quality at $30, then I'd definitely buy it at that. If it becomes more potato, then I'll happily pay the $60.

2 RepliesEdited by Ninjaofdeath23: 8/12/2016 11:14:52 PM45 maybe but 30 that is too much

3 RepliesI look at price vs hours put in. I have put more hors in to this game than I have Doom which was also 60. Doom was a great game and I loved it and would pay 60 for it agian, but no man's sky is a better buy just from the hours I will put in.

2 RepliesTBH I think I'd like any game better at 30 dollars lol
-
I think it's worth more than $60 honestly. Easily one of my favorite games.
-
Does anyone remember when video games were 50 dollars? Yeah that's how much this game should be. Perfect price IMO.
-
It would be better at $30, wouldn't change my opinion on it though.
-
Have your own opinions guys.

FF14 was very much a AAA game but was only 40$, it has a sub fee though, but they release a shitload of content to make it well worth it. I'd value NMS at around 20$.
-
All I can say is that I'm really glad I gave it a try on Steam Family Sharing before putting money down.
-
2 RepliesDoesn't change the fact it's a boring game

2 Repliesyour lucky, it's $80 in Canada for the PS4 version
