Xbox has SmartGlass. You can message using phone or table. Pretty handy.

Lol it's all good. Makes communicating with teammates that don't have mics, as well as replying without interrupting your game, pretty easy. Especially using voice text. [spoiler]although voice text has caused a few...mishaps. lmao.[/spoiler]
