Been playing since February, don't know this gjallyporn you speak of, was it a nice gun? I'm not trolling btw, I'm a newb. I have A LOT of playtime since February(especially if sitting afk in orbit counts) but seriously, is there some cool lore or perks about this particular rocket launcher? Please explain, I'm WAY TO LAZY to look it up

Edited by FullMetaZero: 6/11/2016 10:59:26 PMGjallarhorn was the most powerful exotic weapon of year 1. It was a boss melter. It was so good that raiding parties required it to join on lfg. Sort of like touch of malice for KF when HM came out. But on a whole other level. The chances of having a Gjallarhorn drop were so small that grown men would squeal when they got it. Seriously it's all over youtube. But the "must have Gjallarhorn" posts were so out of hand that alot of players were practically restricted from running a raid. So bungie nerfed it to create peace among guardians and gave us the sleeper simulant for year 2 which everyone can recieve if the follow the correct steps. When year 2 came some exotic weapons moved up with it but beloved ones like Gjallarhorn and ice breaker (unlimited sniper) didn't and we're capped at a max light level of 170 making them utterly useless. Now players rejoice that it will be making a comback

This is bad bait.

One sec

9 RepliesGarbage. Sleeper Simulant and Raze-Lighter are far better.
-
Its still fun to use in pvp....even Iron Banner.
-
2 RepliesIt was now it can't even melt a hydra or red bar lvl 41 fallen captain on a heroic strike. Maybe because of 170 light.
-
The Gjallahorn was your entry ticket to raids, it was a monster. It was very difficult to obtain because there was no Three Of Coins back then. One rocket had the power of two normal rocket launchers, it had tracking and proximity detention (pre nerf) and with the right boots you could have 2 in the chamber and 5 reserve (a long time ago even 7 in reserve)
-
It may be the most iconic and powerful weapon in the history of any game, ever.

Here's the story: Lore-Gjallarhorn was created by a person of the city by the name of Feizel Cruz, forged from fallen guardians in the battle of the twilight gap (to sum up this battle: House Kings, Devils, and Winter try to invade city, but are repelled, with the aid of Saladin. Wolves try to help, are stopped in Reef=reef wars=Queen Kell=set up to HoW). Perks-It automatically comes with wolfpack rounds (cluster missiles from the rocket upon detonation) and tracking In-Game History-It was first regarded as a terrible weapon. Xur sold it in Week 2, and everyone thought it was trash. Then, those who had it realized that it could pretty much nuke any boss it came across in short order. This is why everyone started requiring a Gjallarhorn for all end-game PVE activities. Problem was, it dropped solely via RNG, meaning only a few had it. Bungie eventually realized this, and nerfed in update 2.0, shortly after Xur sold it for a second time. It was then left behind in year 1, and hasn't been used much since. Just watch some videos of grown men screaming like girls when they get it.

7 RepliesIt was a good launcher mainly because 95% of the other launchers at the time were throwaway garbage. I'm curious to see how it'll stack up now that there are alot of good launchers and tracking options are actually pretty common.
-
It was OK. I used Super Good Advice a lot more though. More rounds = more downs.
-
3 RepliesIt was like firing a tracking rocket that had tracking grenades in it. It also made every person who knew anything about destiny that didn't have one, want to ask you how you got it and also instantly think that you were jesus sent to save them in the solar nightfall archin priest strike

2 RepliesPfft, who wastes an exotic slot to a rocket launcher?
Little we knew.
Lore was beautiful. Power was unmatched. Bosses were melted. Gods were toppled.
-
Could melt bosses better than sleeper. You best believe when I get my gjallarhorn back I'm going straight to warpriest to end an argument once and for all
-
Go buy a legacy heavy from xur when he sells it. You won't be disappointed.
-
I bought a gally when Xur sold it at the baby stages of Destiny. Never got to use it as much as I liked. But I can tell you. Watching the rockets melt through VOG while I ran relic was amazing. Running sword on Crota and knowing that fool was guaranteed to take a knee was amazing.
-
It's a legend. Go look it up.
-
It literally melted ANYTHING. It was the most overpowered weapon in the game.
-
Let's pray that rockets are relevant again. Then you will see.

Edited by SNYPA: 6/11/2016 4:01:13 PMPut it this way. The damn thing was so good that your girl would walk in, see that you were playing Destiny and when you pull out the Gally to kill the boss, she instantly gets soaking wet. I mean stupid wet; just dumb- running down the sides of her legs wet. Yeah, just that good. Just saying.

Week 2 😢 had no idea...
