THREE OF COINS IS HOPELESS! ABSOLUTELY HOPELESS!!
I used 40 three of coins and NOT ONE DROPPED A SINGLE EXOTIC ENGRAM!!! FIX THIS CRAP! I wasted a whole week trying to get these strange coins and what do I get?? NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
I expect for when my refresh is done I have a good chance on getting gear with better defense I didn't get through the raid, prison and strikes. but when I wasted a whole day grinding away for ONE exotic, I WAS PISSED!
HERE IS HOW TO FIX THIS!
every time we use a three of coins and don't get an exotic it builds up our chances of getting an exotic, Example:
10% failure
33% failure
66% failure
80% success
No more stackable effects! it never works anyways.
please bungie just get the numbers right please! I want to know I didn't waste a week being killed over, and over, and over just doing kings fall. and I want to know that every last wipe counts.
So just, fix this crap and make it so I can get to 335, I'm so close too! I was just hoping to get even the tiniest increase. that doesn't look like it's happening until you can fix this problem.

Every one has their bad luck curse from rngesus. Year one i got something like thirty No Back-up Plans. No joke. And now i seem to be cursed with exotic gauntlets. But exotic engrams dropping at higher light levels has given this mostly solo player a path to max light level. Still havent killed Oryx. So I'm grateful.

If you go do crucible and use one every match you will get exotics. They don't stack, and you have to wait between uses (can't use one on a ultra, die, then use one again. They nerfed that.) I do it and it works.

I have awful luck in regards to RNG but with 3oC it's not that bad. What I've always done and still do is, ill pop a 3oC n kill an ultra and if I don't get an exotic I'll wait like a minute and then pop another. Only after I get an exotic do I wait like 6-10 minutes before I pop another one n then I just repeat the process. I've never gone over 12 3oC used without an exotic dropping. I only buy about 40 or so every week on all 3 characters and each character gets at least 5 exotics to drop weekly. Try it out man

3 RepliesI think you are using them too often. There is a 10 minute cool down where they won't work after using one. The chances don't increase by using multiple 3oC either.

They nurfed them don't pop one but every 8 minutes say Coe pop one every other round on crucible every other round if you do them quicker you waisting them on strikes it long enough to pop one on every

That sucks...I get about 1 every 5 to 10...most people I know do..you have really bad luck with RNG.

I don't mean to brag, offend or degrade this post but three of coins is one of the best things about destiny, I get about 3 to 4 exotics a day whether it be crucible or strike, I actually have a personal method to using strange coins, that allows me to maximize my success, in one day I got 3 boots, 2 heavy, 1 primary, 1 secondary and 3 head exotics within 5 hours I played crucible on top of a bunch of legendaries I used I dismantled, I don't know if my method will work for you but it definitely works for me, so if you want to know how I do it PM me it's funny also I just started using 3oC about 2 weeks ago I thought that they didn't work but they do! ^_^

I waited for about 10-15 minutes before using the next one. A lot of times I didn't get anything and when I did it's either exotic boots or a dragons breath. I've gotten a million of those things. I could use more exotic primary engrams. I'm only missing the jade rabbit but I'll take any extra primaries. I've got a bunch of primaries with good rolls that I can't infuse. I swear it's a pattern. Time for a break in that pattern.

2 RepliesMake sure you're not using more than one at a time, also there's an invisible timer on them, nobody really knows what the timer is, but I try to wait at least 5 minutes between them.

How are you using them? Make sure you're never using more than 1 at a time! The idea of stacking is as such: 1st use - 5% chance. If you don't get an exotic, the next one you use will give a 10% chance. If you don't get one then, the next one gives a 15% chance, and so on, up to 5x. In this example, after the 5th use, you have a 25% chance to get an engram every use after. Those percentages are for sake of clarity, I do not know the specific %s.

I used about 25 3oC in the last iron banner and got over half a dozen exotics. Dont know if thats just how IB likes to roll or if it was pure luck but I can at least confirm 3oC was not useless there.
