so some people had kind words for my last work, so here's another one. I personally think its lacking compared to the first, mostly because I'm bound by the main storyline. Set events I can't dance around and tweak, like I can with the Destiny backstory, which is very loose, non-specific and un-detailed. This one is just for the vanilla campaign story. I'll write up ones for the DLCs later. Trinity United It was a time of celebration in The Tower. At least, for three Guardians. Jack, a century dead Guardian, recently returned. His returned came at a cost, they later learned. The House of Devils had taken his Ghost for research, but the Fallen base became overrun with invading Hive. The chaos gave the Ghost a chance to escape and find his Guardian. The moment he transmatted out of his ship, the captivating warlock he had been unrequitedly infatuated with had him in a bear hug. The towering titan who stood by his side through carnage and defended him from worse had his metallic paw on his shoulder. The Unholy Trinity was reforged. Word travels fast in The Tower, and not five minutes into his reunion, Cayde-6 was calling for Jack on the intercom. Jack had not been alive for more than an hour when The Speaker sent him out on mission. He wouldn’t be alone though. As much as he protested, Aideen Alainn and Promtheus-8 weren't letting Jack fly solo for awhile. Three planetary bodies, scores of decimated enemies, a couple gratuitous explosions and a one-off exposition setting encounter later, The Unholy Trinity met something truly Unholy. The center of Vex worship and power, The Heart of Darkness. A piece of the Primordial source of darkness itself. Unyielding waves of robotic demons and titanic entities saw the trios toughest battle yet. Prometheus-8 struggled to keep Wards up to protect his friends. Aideen took the brunt of the forces, utilizing her Self-Rez and letting loose flurries of grenades. Jack nearly killing himself trying to slice through all the swarming Vex. When their supers ran out, they emptied all their ammo to keep the machines at bay. Once the futility set in, Aideen came up with an ingenious idea. They covered a corner while Prometheus-8 and she switched subclasses. Once ready, Aideen jumped atop a group of Vex, while Prometheus-8 charged, leapt, and unleashed Havoc with every iota of light in his body, obliterating Vex and launching Aideen clear over the last Progeny, giving her the best shot for a Nova Bomb. One blinding flash and the Unholy Trinity stood triumphant over The Darkness itself, if only a measure of it.
