Just wondering if this is a hidden gem perk for primaries. I have it on my finallas peril and it seems to wreck ppl.

1 ReplyI don't like them since it decreases headshot damage. It doea a portion of the damage in an AoE, and Area of Effect damage can't crit

2 RepliesWhat if Doctrine had explosive rounds...

3 RepliesIt is a cool effect but not very useful does same amount of damage with or without that perk. A better perk is high caliber rounds.

Yes, yes it is.

It depends on the gun. Personally, I think they're best on hand cannons. You can hit and stun multiple enemies at once, which is ideal when fighting at close range. Hand cannons also have relatively slow reload and small magazines, so hitting multiple enemies at once makes the most out of them. My Judith-D has Explosive Rounds, Army of One, and Feeding Frenzy. It's probably the best PvE primary I've ever used and that's largely due to the Explosive Rounds. I've only used them in PvP a handful of times. They're perfect if you have trouble aiming. They also cause your target to flinch significantly and it blinds them for a frame or two. If you're going for precision shots, they can -blam!- you up, though. That's been my experience at least.

Seems to stagger more than HC rounds and the vendor scout Not Like the Others with explosive rounds, reactive reload, and crowd control is a beast for PVE.

1 ReplySome people claim it messes with precision hit perks. Even if it did, it is far too useful in pve to not be used.

I have it on my fulcrum with Icarus and outlaw. Very helpful in getting those nice flinch kills.
