• Do you plan on over clocking? If not then I might change the CPU to an i5 6500 and get rid of that CPU cooler, doesn't seem necessary. Also for the amount of money your spending, you may want to opt for a better graphics card, probably either a gtx 970 or AMD R390. Other than that looks fine. But if you're trying to get it as cheap as possible, you could switch to 8gb of RAM instead of the 16, very few games need that much RAM, the difference between 8 and 16 is marginal when it comes to gaming. Best of luck with your build :D

  • Nice build.. I honestly would go a little big on GPU if you're going with a Skylake CPU.. Maybe a Radeon 380X or a GTX 970. That's just me though, if you're trying to keep your budget around $1k then stick with your gut and stay with the 960.

  • I built mine for about 1200 with gtx 980. And I would at least try to get a 970. My 980 doesn't struggle but some games do put a load on it on max setting at 1080p

  • Would get an i7 instead of the i5 unless you plan on overclocking? Which case also?

    • If it were me I'd ditch the water cooler and go for an air cooler like the Cryorig H7 or the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo unless you want to overclock. I'd also consider a 970 nowadays; lots of games are recommending 960 for minimum specs so the 970 would give you some headroom. NVIDIA is expected to announce their Pascal GPUs soon so if you are waiting a bit to build it I'd expect a price drop in the current generation of GPUs. Other than that it looks good. If it were me I might go with a different power supply for the EVGA supply you have looks good.

      • The processor is good but ditch the water cooling and put that money towards gtx970. Also, needs a Samsung 950 pro in there.

I know it changes the color scheme you had set up, but I would build something like this. It's only $14 more, and you get a lot more power, a better psu, plus an ssd boot drive. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/67Y4K8 Edit: In case you want a windowed side panel case option of high quality without breaking the bank the NZXT S340 or Phanteks Enthoo Pro M are both very good cases.

I don't see a need for that expensive of a cooler, and if it's for gaming spend more on the gpu than the cpu. Unless you plan on overclocking I doubt you'll need a $180 mobo. But I don't know much, just wait for Martiis >_>

          • Looks good to me not overly expensive. But if you can afford it maybe get a 970 instead. Bit more bang for your buck. You'll be looking at $100-$150 More though. If not good build and good luck :)
