Now before people start ranting or raging about how I'm anti Bungie and all that, hear me out. I generally listen to streams and such for background noise while I'm doing other tasks. As such, generally it phases out and I don't pay attention. Today however, I had enough down time to actually watch it.
I started watching previous streams and such due to a very startling observation. Deej is a noob. Either he plays like an idiot on purpose or he just really sucks. Either way, both instances are worthy of him being called a noob.
I began to wonder if Deej was gifted all his gear and such due to being an employee of Bungie. He seems to lack any type of skill in the game. Again he could just be playing like an idiot. If that is the case, the charm in that was worn out at the end of last year when Bungie became enemy number one to many players.
Agree or disagree, it is just my opinion of watching today's and previous streams. I wouldn't mind finding out otherwise despite my disgruntled status, I still play and love this game. However I'm on the xbone so Bungie probably wouldn't sanction an event such as that :-P.

8 RepliesI just don't know how you work at a company and not be more experienced with the product after a year and a half. As a community manager part of his duties should be playing the game at least a few hours a week to be knowledgeable. Sure don't see him doing much else that would take away from anyway lol.

1 ReplyDEEJ is like those lfg cockroaches who hit 320 like it was nothing but can't jump ships and asks you to pull him through and that 1 cockroach who thinks it's alright to die every time.... cockroaches

First of all, Deej is only a community manager, not a game dev or tester, so obviously he is not required to be good at the game. Second, expecting any developer of a product to be highly experienced at using it, while sounding like common sense, is actually rarely the right way to think. Think about sports equipment companies like Adidas, Nike, and Omega. When they develop a new soccer ball or shoe or fitness shirt, they don't test it themselves, they hire a professional athlete to test it out for them. Many companies do this because it eliminates any chance of faulty results from testing.
-
Gotta be fair Deej has admitted to his status as a filthy casual.
-
Deej has even gone out and said that he wasn't that good. He isn't a super bad player, there is much worse, but nevertheless, he's pretty bad.
-
Tbh I would too

What's DeeJ's favorite phrase?
DeeJ out!
9 RepliesYou had his money you'd be doing real life things as well. Playing video games is not really what most of us would be doing if we were multi-millionaires.

First, he did not 'play' the game he showed around so he was playing tourist. That's maybe the reason he did not feel the need to reload after every shot. Also since when is every BMW employee a world class car racer !?? Being employed by a company does not mean you magically get the skills to use a product .... -
1 ReplyIt's kinda ironic, they are constantly changing things in the game because of "balance" but in the end they barely even play their own game enough to really know whether something was a good or bad idea. Just my take on things.
You're a bungie employee and by default should be good at the game
That's what I gleaned from what you said. I have played against some of the devs and with them, they're pretty solid. Deej isn't taking it seriously, he's interacting with the community instead of just focusing on being a sweaty ass dude. Who gives a shit honestly?
-
You're Judging a guy who does more work than sit on his ass and play games... Yeah, that's smart.

Deej out

Edited by Cheesy_Quesadila: 3/4/2016 2:49:38 AMI don't like deej either, he probably doesn't even like video games in general, just shows up to work for the paycheck unless it's his birthday. Definitely has allot of pull at bungie which is sad for the community and why he can get away with it, he needs to be in charge of selling destiny shwag as he sais it, doesn't know how to say swag apparently, so maybe he'd be bad at that also
-
I played against him in ib before. We mercy'd his team. The only decent (relatively) player was cozmo and only because he was standing in the hallways in his spawn and scoping people like there is no tomorrow. Needless to say they all went negative. Not sure why people assume they are good players.

1 ReplyDeej basically said on one stream that going 0.38 in a Crucible match and getting dropped Thunderlord was one of his favorite parts of Destiny and he "earned" his Thunderlord that way instead of trading for it, or some nonsense. That should tell you all you need to know about him. Kind of hard to be a community manager for a game when you hardly know the game and obviously don't play it. He got called out for that a long time ago.

7 RepliesI remember watching the Bungie Bounty for Crimson Double stream. He was beyond clueless about the Crucible maps. Granted, he is not very skilled in PvP as far as I could tell, but also it was a bit disheartening to see an employee not know their own game. No idea where to go and no idea of the common strategies of the map. I remember when he was last guardian standing on Burning Shrine and Leif told him to just collect ammo, Deej went to the old spot outside of the map where the special ammo used to spawn. Like seriously, that was changed like over a year ago. You'd think the employees would at least play their own game enough to know more than what they experienced in Year 1. It goes beyond Deej as well. I get it that people like to enjoy other games, but Luke Smith and some of the other employees I follow on Twitter tweet all the time about the other games they are playing. Rarely if ever, have I seen any of them posting about Destiny. I mean, simple tweets like getting wrecked in crucible (because I am sure a lot of them do) or conquering a raid with an LFG group (which I doubt any of them do) would at least be comforting for us fans knowing they are having the same experiences (high or low) as us.

TL;DR:
nerf fusion rifles
Just after asking him to nerf fusion rifles again right?

2 RepliesI'd bring him to the end of oryx hard challenge mode and just as we're about to kill oryx... Kick him.
-
Absolutely but I'm guessing his personal account is more impressive than his company account that we see. Still if i knew it was him i'd leave him facing an enemy alone on a nightfall.
