{Important edit}
I'm looking for smart, mature, and skilled players. I'm looking forward to making an elite team for 3V3 gamemodes. Currently this is only applicable to xbox 360 users.
I've played with the best before, however now, I'm making the best.
If you are interested please private message me on bungie.net. whether or not you will get in is dependent on your experience with the game.
Hope to see you guys soon, now back to the real post.

Here`s a tip for those of you who are complaining about the so called "meta" in Destiny. This helped me big time in achieving my own ranking.
A bit of backstory, I used to be a 1.1 K/D player. I could never go flawless, I could barely play on my own. I would go around blaming my deaths and losses on everything that is of cause. Sadly, there are still tons of players who are like this. Here is a little tip that hopefully you guys can follow in order to stop yourself from getting "tilt".
__________________
Every time you die, or miss a kill, you can never blame it on the gun you are using or, the gun they are using. Same goes with abilities. You are dying purely because you are not thinking ahead. This game plays more so on skill, rather then what kind of guns you`re using.
If you go around blaming something other then yourself for your deaths, you will never admit to your own mistakes, blaming the Game will never alow you to improve, rather you will not know where to improve upon.
I could go into the crucible with any kind of blue weapon and still play relatively good. Why? Because this game is all skill/hand-eye coordination based. This game requires concentrated practice. Similar to playing the guitar. Your fingers will just feel uncomfortable and sloppy. With concentrated use, you don't even need to look at the guitar to know the chords.
Just an added note, you won't play as good with a blue weapon of course, but you won't be having bad games as long as you concentrate on playing smart, and safe. The meta in destiny currently is relatively balenced. If we keep blaming the game for our own mistakes, we will likely cause a new nerf due to complaints. A new nerf will only make for a new meta, and so the cycle continues.
If you ever want to get good at this game. Never, blame anyone or anything but yourself for dying or playing bad. If you do so, you will never recognize your own mistakes. as a result you will never improve in whatever is causing you to die. blaming the game will surely put yourself on tilt, which will only result in digging a hole for yourself...

This is currently the top trending post. I'm glad that I'm getting so much support. For those of you that need help in the crucible, I'd be happy to give private lessons online. If you play on the Xbox 360, message me, if I get to you, I will quite possibly help teach you in PvP.

Your right I didn't like crucible at all when I first started playing because it all seemed to go quite fast and couldn't shoot anything for toffee, it all changed when I gave it a try with some friends and gave me some advice on what to do in certain game types I don't mind playing crucible now and have came top on leader board a few times and even got the best around medal which I thought would never happen, done 3 iron banners which I've enjoyed too I've even had a k.d. above 5 in a match which felt amazing don't know how that happened but it did, just getting into elimination now practising for trials has I have never done it so yes practice makes you better and take yer time and don't tilt brilliant advice buddy

7 RepliesEdited by XAMANDER: 2/14/2016 10:26:31 AMIf you think we don't need nerfs then you have no idea how game development works. Every single development team on every single game you've ever played are always tweaking, buffing, and nerfing to try to make their game better or more balanced. It's just the nature of game development. Most games you don't even realize or care if there are buffs or nerfs. But in Destiny and some other fps it comes under the microscope. Here at Destiny we see this subgroup of players that thinks it's cool or makes them look hardcore when they scream not to nerf. But really it just shows their complete ignorance of how games are made and maintained during their lifetime. Destiny and other fps multiplayer development teams will try not to let some particular weapons become too overpowering and create a meta. As of now, in Destiny, it's MIDA, The 1000 yard stare, and TLW that players are mostly gravitating towards. If you are arguing that there should not be nerfs then you are completely oblivious and are at odds with every professional game developer in the world.

In year 1 I got pretty good with red death (Pre Pulse Meta) and I'd play pretty wildly, I'd shoulder charge, shotgun and red death my way to usually a 1-1.2 k.d I then started using Saterinne Rapier (scout rifle) when TDB dropped as well as a sniper and id quit shoulder charging and started playing strategically. Ended up with a kd of around 1.3-1.5 HoW came along and I started using TLW, and got really really good with that and a sniper, no close quarters combat, Etheric light came along and I'd switch between a Last Word-Sniper build and a Scout Rifle-Shotgun build, this is when I became my best going flawless in trials weekly on multiple characters TTK comes along, and all of a sudden, I become a garbage kid who can't even stay positive, running around getting sniped and picked off by scouts. I've tried getting good with a sniper again, wasn't happening, tried going to a shotgun, can't get good with it, tried fusions, can't get good enough, tried sidearms, can't get one to drop, can't get a decent hand cannon to drop, etc. I've been stuck using Mida, which I'm not good with at all, but is pretty much the only thing getting me kills, as well as a shotgun and the warlock melee, which I've gotten used to blink rushing with. I'm honestly quite disgusted with myself and am sad watching my Kd constantly drop into the negatives

The fact there Crucible always seems to boil down to 1 or 2 main weapons goes against this theory of yours. The weapons you use have a massive impact in determining whether you are going to win a gunfight or lose that gunfight.

Your little tip needs to be nerfed.

Edited by GRABOOZLE: 2/14/2016 10:32:34 AMThe Nerf and complaint posts are like the flu. It seems these forums really blew up since taken king launched. I wasn't an active member up until then either, but have played religiously since before dark below. With the introduction of taken king also came a slew of new players, fresh to the games nuances and subtleties. Enter the flu theory. More people congregating in one place, more interaction between players, once silent guardians now incensed to speak up feeling their tenure has earned them a right to be heard. New players who haven't developed the skills to combat opponents much more versed in crucible combat. Players biased towards their preferences. Now I'm not saying that nerfs/buffs are not required when warranted, by any means. But the frequency in which I see these lends me to discredit them. There are multiple viable options in each class and subclass that when used properly and with practice can be lethal in the hands of almost any player. I'm not a great player at all, but I have my moments. I can admit to cursing the last word, snipers, blinkers, burners, shadesteppers, and just about every other possible weapon, gear, and subclass loadout imaginable. But ultimately most of the time I either FÜCKED UP or LOST FAIR AND SQUARE. People have a hard time admitting this, especially in a video game where real world pressure doesn't exist and you aren't liable for your actions. In conclusion, all I'm trying to say to the players having difficulties adjusting to change, be more positive and open minded.

72 RepliesNo, there's definitely some issues when my auto rifles can't out gun anything in auto rifle range.
-
2 RepliesI agree that taking the blame for not playing well definitely helps tremendously all around, things such as the Viking funeral firebolts do need to be brought down a little bit.

I think ever primary needs a slight range/stability boost except scouts. Shotguns need redesigned to be more skill based. Fusion rifles need a buff. Lol all the bad kids who ran around shotgun derping are now hard sighting corners.
-
You got that right on the money with the guitar. I started teaching myself about 2 1/2 years ago, and now I don't even think about the chords. I just play. Muscle memory is used in guitar and gaming. You play the guitar?
-
1 ReplyOk so when thron becomes a one shot with unlimited range I shouldn't ask for a nerf
-
I couldn't snipe to save myself in year 1. Never blamed it on anything other than my skill. Made a real effort in year 2 to learn to snipe and while I'm not gonna wreck it every game I have noticed a vast improvement.every weapon and skill can be countered or avoided if you play smarter. Obviously there are just gonna be ppl that are better than you but show me a game that ain't like that.needing certain weapons only results in others being better so the balance keeps shifting.mida is a beast no doubt about it but there are other weapons that can and do compete with it
-
Some things that the community complains about do indeed a nerf at times. At this point, I'd say the only thing that needs it is the Warlock firebolt grenade burn duration or damage.
-
Some weapons and subclasses are better overall. Like pre-nerf sunbreaker. Rewards you for pushing R2. I do not disagree with the fact that weapons are pretty much balenced right now, but some things are better in raw stats

4 RepliesEdited by bobIin the goblin: 2/14/2016 9:12:01 AMi can handle a last word well but other weapons just don't fit me (anymore) i used to rock thorn in y1 being the blink shotgun scrub everyone hated but in y2 my shotgun is practically useless and i can't use mida all that well while i am really trying to learn how to snipe i still feel like i'm running and gunning with tlw and blink shotgunning like i was in y1 only thing is... it won't work anymore my shotgun is neutered i can barely one-shot from blink strike range (with max range rangefinder) now and get bodyshot into tlw or mida by nipers all the time
like most people you will most likely say that i should try to snipe some more but after trying for the last 3 months nd seeing almost no improvement my morale for that is getting really low
9 RepliesYou have Mida and 1000 state equipped for PVP. Use not those weapons and I'll try harder to listen. But for now....,,,,,
-
Back in the days when it was up to yourself to improve if you sucked at a fps multiplayer. Now its all nerfs and SBMM. Apperently the the plague scrubs of this community wont accept playing better players or against better loadouts. Destiny is slowly turning into Minecraft.
-
2 RepliesTotally agree. I don't play PVP very much, and with few exceptions, the results aren't pretty. Losing means my enemy had a better strategy than me, is more skilled than me, is more familiar with the maps, or just got lucky. I tip my hat to the opponent that has defeated me, and all the nerf this and nerf that isn't going to make me better, help my strategy, or give me better luck.
-
1 ReplyThis is true but ultimately self-contradictory. At some point, the "thinking ahead" and making good decisions has to include honestly evaluating what guns are strong right now, and learning to use those if you want to rise to the top and be able to play in any situation. The guns are not all equally balanced, as evidenced by ongoing dominance of some, lack of use by others, and ensuing buffs and nerfs.
-
5 RepliesYes and no. Crybabys are calling for nerfs everytime they die, doesnt matter is it gun, ability or did they fall of the edge. Still all guns are not balanced in this game, never have been, but i prefer buffing bad ones, not nerfing viable guns, cos soon we use sticks and stones if this nerfs keeps coming.
-
If only one person realizes that death in battle is related to strategy or lack thereof, you would have made a difference. Unfortunately, in Destiny, it's always the other guy's fault or his gun! It's never us! Thanks for trying to make a difference. Hope you aren't targeted for smut too much. You know, 'shoot the messenger'!
-
6 RepliesI was hit with a Viking funeral/ touch of flame firebolt the other day. I crouched behind a rock to let the burn wear off. I was kicked to orbit for inactivity.

Thoughtful.
