This weekly update featured a change in special ammo in PvP, teleporting ogre fix, and improved latency. The special ammo fix was a really smart move because it effects the most competitive game modes like trials where special weapons are the clear go to weapon. This change avoided nerfing sniper riffles and I respect Bungie for making this move plus 6v6 gamemodes will remain untouched and I agree that sniping is less a avenue in 6v6. Obviously the teleporting ogre and latency issues where the 2 biggest concerns lately so those are two really good fixes.
I've seen of a lot of complaining about the update being centered on PvP, but Cozmo recently acknowledged that they would also like to see a weekly PvE event and I'm sure with a little time they will be able to come up with something. In the meantime we should all be respectful because apparently Bungie is actually paying attention at the moment.

2 RepliesThey are only now communicating because Activision booted Harold Ryan's ass out the door! If that wouldn't have happened, it would still be the same old shit!
-
1 ReplyNot the best. Its a retarded update. But better than the other retard updates

2 RepliesI agree to an extent. They have finally fixed some things, but at the same time they're still "experimenting" and changing the game to make players play a certain way. Not enough people using primary weapons. So what? Why do we have to keep changing how we play the game, just because bungie has some idea of how it should be played? I don't mean to rant at you. I generally agree with you that this update is somewhat informative, even if the info isn't what we hoped to hear. My disagreement is with this line: "... we should all be respectful because Bungie is actually paying attention at the moment." I'm happy they are starting to listen - or at least it appears they are, and that, at least, is a good start. But Bungie has a long way to go before they earn back my respect. I don't appreciate being lied to and cheated, manipulated and frustrated repeatedly by the same stupid crap. Yes, it's good that they are making an effort. I respect that. But they, as a company, have a lot of work to do.

1 ReplyThe changes and communication for pvp are pretty good. Getting better imo. As for pve Cosmo has suggested a weekly pve event? We had decent pve weekly things to do in year one. For example weekly nightfalls and raids. The community has voiced their opinion on how we can bring pve back to what we had in year one. -Fix nightfall- make it more rewarding for the player. Better drops and bring back the buff. I don't do nightfalls anymore because I don't need a 290 ghost or any gear under 310 light level. -Make all strikes relevant to the new light levelling system. -make Poe relevant to new light levelling system -make year one raids relevant to new levelling system and challenge mode for vog and crota. These suggestions have been voiced by the community and would hold over the people who like pve for a while. a new weekly pve event would be a bonus for us players who enjoy destiny for pve and bring back what this game was. In my opinion pve has gone downhill since year one and all I really play is the Kings fall raid. Challenge mode was a good addition to the raid but it is getting old fast. Our clan will usually only play the raid for the weekly challenge. We do not bother finishing on all 3 characters due to what we are rewarded for our time. (311 drops, Mouldering shards or sometimes nothing)

4 RepliesI agree and feel they are doing more bit by bit!

2 RepliesYou obviously have zero expectations or hope when it comes to meaningful updates.

2 RepliesIt's definitely one of the better updates I've seen. They are taking baby steps towards making improvements and while they still have a long way to go, it's a good start. Now they just need to keep up the momentum and accelerate.

1 ReplySo in other words......Bungie fixed some of their mistakes. Then they told us about it in the Weakly Update!

1 ReplyPersonally special ammo never bothered me. The ridiculous way snipers work kinda does. But the ammo itself isn't the issue to me. Add more flinching to snipers, slow down rate of fire slightly and decrease agility slightly and I think specials would be in an on spot. I feel dirty for requesting any nerfing! Just seems reasonable to me.

5 RepliesIf you think this was a great update then you're a complete idiot. They fixed a bug(teleporting ogres)that should've been fixed months ago and removed special ammo spawn for 3v3 whoopty fυckin doooo! Just glad the dying light dlc is coming out next week, destiny is going back on the shelf until they release some actual new content, not just chocolate ghosts and throwing flowers around the tower.

3 RepliesWhat would be REALLY nice is if Bungie went ahead and brought Fusion rifles, and Patch A archetype shotguns back to a respectable state.
-
I agree. We **** on them about rewards and matchmaking and they are trying to fix matchmaking for us. Pretty cool

12 RepliesEdited by Blankman007: 2/4/2016 11:51:14 PMWhy would you believe bungie exactly? They lie and break promises all the time. The update was crap. Didn't address anything the community has asked for. No mention of PVE plans. They basically just took a dump in your mouth and you thanked them and asked for another.

3 RepliesI'm not sure if they're just now paying attention or just now starting to show respect for their customers. Either way, I also liked this week's update. I hope the advantage of having a good connection is true. I'm so sick of the crappy connection having the advantage! I have no idea why they took so long to address what seems like simple issues, but let's hope they continue to work hard to please their clients. Next fix... THE FREAKING DROPS! The rewards suck, Bungie!!!

Are you Deej?

5 RepliesPositives 1. Some adjustments and changes to continuously improve pvp 2. Less Deej prose more dev fact Negative 1. No relief to pve content drought

4 RepliesShhh.... You're upsetting the trolls with your lack of mindless repetitive ranting.

2 RepliesI consider myself to be a primarily PvE player, and though I would have liked to have seen more PvE material, this was an outstanding update based on form, if not content. What information was delivered was done in a professional and direct fashion. The bits were punctuated properly with direct developer quotes which gave actual information. Not only that, the immediate goals were laid out clearly. Yes, it was PvP. But you know what? It was clear and direct, and that's the kind of dialogue we need around here. I gave it an A+. What a breath of fresh air.

12 RepliesA little more time they'll be able to come up with a pve event? You mean maybe if we give them four more years they'll have an outline as they were supposed to make one to replace queen's wrath and didn't over a year ago. Saying they are looking to make one is just another empty promise.

Edited by Playfair2: 2/5/2016 7:20:41 AMIts a good move on the special ammo, It preps PvP for eSports in Destiny 2 along with the latency fixes. Redbull will begin to enjoy its returns in Destiny 2.

1 ReplySo fixing something that is broken since months and taking away secondary ammo is the big deal you were waiting for? Issues with teleporting ogres were nothing if the team had two titans using blessing and weapon of light. Oryx is certainly the least bugged of all raids, and the one players can't cheese through bugs on the map. Only stubborn players would have ogres teleporting and it's nothing like the vex regenerating life in the VoG. Anyway let me know next time you buy a car, then find out that its electronic system is broken! I want to see you go praise the manufacturer for fixing it 6 months after you bought it. But you're right in a way we should be praising the employees of bungie that work. Doesn't seem to be many of them!

4 RepliesQuite frankly this update was nothing special, no pun intended. Yes it's a good idea to limit these absurd snipers in 3v3, but again we still have no specifics, will it be round based, will the spawns change etc. This is kind of important information if you really want to get the point across to us that it will be effective. But as is usually the case we have to test it out for them first, and if it doesn't work, come on here and give them yet another excuse to fix something that should have occurred to them from the outset. And yes every update since the break has been pvp centric, Iron Banner rift, Crimson doubles which we have known about for two weeks now, skill based matchmaking, and now freelance lobbies and limited special ammo drops in 3v3. Nothing remotely pve whatsoever, teleporting Ogres? When that is the bulk of your pve information when it's clear half your player base is starving for pve information, you have a problem. All of this pvp crap is simply there to run interference because I believe they have absolutely no idea where they want to go with pve moving forward. And the update is clearly indicative of this. Three paragraphs to explain you are removing special ammo from the start of 3v3 game modes,??? Right. Filler.

Bungie gave up on us. Its simple, its time for us to move on to better days. Basically any other game is a better use of your time and has a better community because their community doesnt have Bungie as a developer.
