Black Spindle is gone and I may be too!
I don't normally post, especially with anything negative, but this time I've to get get it out. Yesterday was the FIRST time I even knew about the Black Spindle being a reward from a specific mission. After our team attempted to complete Kings Fall and we discovered we only had 1 of these in our group it was decided we'd have to try and get our raid party set up with these to better assist us in getting though the raid.
We split up and I waited so we could run optimal teams to increase the chance of completion for the members needing this. I was last. When my time came we ran and got close but failed, ran again and failed worse, retooled, tried again and got locked in the first room being unable to pick up the orb to open the door, had to go back to space and start over. Tried again and killed the boss but didn't have all the adds cleared... so close. We talked strategy and felt we had it... ONE LAST PUSH with the clock at 1:45 AM CST when we started the 10 minute clock our team was sure we had it this time.
Then it happened.... with a minute and a half left on the count down clock and my Titan starring at the last orb needed to pop a weapons of light bubble and finish it, Our whole team was forcably ejected from the event. I've not complained about changes, nerfs, PVP lag cheese, or RNG hating me at times, as most things seem to balance out in the end... But I worked so hard, our whole team did... Just to complete this and we didn't loose because we weren't good enough, we didn't loose because we ran out of time, we lost because the server booted us w/o warning.
No server maintenance countdown, no server reset advisement, just a fat "Screw you, get off the Game." or at least that exactly how I felt. We may not have made it, or we may have, but one thing is for certain... I could still care and feel I''ll have to push harder next time if I'd just failed. Now though I don't even have a desire to play. I'll be back on to assist the team in trying to complete the raid. After that though I don't know if I can bring myself to continue to stomach this mess.
It's not the first time I've missed out because of server issues and I know it won't be the last but if this was just a timed server thing then ANY sort of advanced IN-GAME warning that this is about to happen would have helped and I won't have felt cheated by your game and/or server, but now I'm just disgusted. I feel violated. I don't know if that feeling is leaving... ever! I know I'm not the only one to ever have this issue, but know I'm wondering how many of your former Patrons, paying customer, and shoulda coulda woulda been dedicated adventurers out there have left the game for good due to their disgust, rage, or feeling of being a$$ --blam!-- by your games poor advisement of timing, or poor servers.
So Bungie, Please take a note from nearly ANY other Multi player online game, and send advanced notices of WHEN you'll be down, Add a clock so we can match our time with yours and make sure we are on the same page. Patch instances to be complete-able FIRST instead of Auto Bootable, or please fix the servers. I feel anything at this point would be better than what's happening and would help.

2 titans and a hunter. 1 super cell. 3 swords. Clear the first blights. Drop weapons and blessing and tether on boss. Beat head in with swords till dead. Clear adds.

It will spawn multiple rounds of blights, and then unless you're 315+ you will have serious trouble. You can get to the point in which you call all blights, then ads, then hit him a bit and repeat.

The mission is hard. It should be hard. It makes the spindle rewarding to get. Once you do you feel a sense of accomplishment and you get a fixed reward that matches the difficulty.

I feel your pain. I have still not 'completed' this terrible mission. Same basic scenario happened to me a while ago where cleared it with 2 minutes to spare but it was 3 minutes after reset. We didn't get booted but got no rewards. I haven't been able to replicate that success since. I am 317 light but am not über good at this game like the people that can solo this. It's super hard. It's super frustrating and to have it taken away at the last second is a kick in the nuts. At least there are some good people in this community willing to do carries and such to balance out the jackasses telling us to 'git gud'.

I've been in your shoes man, I don't have much time to play due my jobs, and in the first time I tried I failed miserably and ran out of time. But this mission gets back often, in the next week I got mine, no sweat (better team members was the key...and swords). But still had no Vienna Singer (that got me mad, but what the hell...). Never did this mission again, it's too annoying. If you're in ps4 I can help you out next time. Just chill, at least you didn't have to hunt for the Gajllahorn (only got mine from Xur).

2 RepliesI definitely feel the frustration. Even with 2 317 plus Titans helping. 300 lvl person get the black spindle. We completed it with 1 second left. We all had 310 exotic swords and used double Titan bubble to help us kill him. But that's not the frustrating part... It's the unstoppable onslaught of adds... Just keep trying man. Exotic swords are a great way to kill him off fast. Then use storm caller or Titan hammers, even exotic swords to finish everything else off the best you can

1 ReplyTbh it's your fault to prioritise the raid which is available for a whole week over Blackspindle daily. It will be available again! A good alternative to Blackspindle is sleeper simulant as it can do up 37k damage per shot if u have weapons of light and tether active

Next time it comes, get people with swords and go ham on him, he doesn't have a AOE attack and can only hit one person at a time. Sorry about what happened.

To everyone else with nothing constructive to add other that being rude butt nuggets (you know who you are)... Let me feed the trolls. I didn't know there were quest or mission specific exotics till yesterday (not everyone is a day one, or even year one player) I didn't know there was a set reset time every night (I don't play till 2 or 3 AM every night, in fact almost never) I'm working to get better so I'm not a "scrub" hence even doing the mission and trying for the gun... so I can be more useful in the raid. Along the way my point was lost, and that was my fault I suppose. Many Online Multiplayer Games, (I've never seen one that didn't but haven't played all either) don't kick you from an instance (fire team is a mission outside of the rest of the world), but let it finish first then lock you out after. They also give you frequent scheduled reminders that this is about to happen. I think it's totally w/i Bungies capabilities to establish both of these w/o negatively effecting the player experience and would only ADD to it, so people would know Hey we aren't going to have enough time before this point so lets wait, call it a nigh, or what ever. On top of that, while close, it was not 2 AM when we got booted from the server, We still had at least a minute and a half in the mission itself, and what should have been 6-7 before any 2 AM reset. Was it close? Yes! Could we still have failed? Sure. Is it guaranteed we "just ran out of time" ? No. Is it possible? sure, why not. I could take loosing because i ran out of mission time and AFTER the mission ended the event wasn't available anymore due to the daily reset. That makes sense. but that's NOT what happened. I'm not mad about not getting the gun it. I've already been thinking about how to get it next time and if successful... how to help others I know that also still don't have it. I'm not demanding Bungie give me the gun or anything like that. I'm just tired of working hard (as this is far from the first time) and getting close for *Poof* you've lost connection at that CRITICAL Moment, W/o WARNING and have nothing to show for it. My max light is 303, I started when the Taken King came out and I've busted my arse to get to where I'm at now and only been trying to get better. I'm not saying I'm great, I ask for build suggestions, weapon loadouts, ect, before I run inn parties to try and be an optimal fit for what they need out of me... I'm not trying to be a whinny anything. I only want things to work more efficiently, to reduce people hating on the game that I love so much, or loosing interest, like me... because of something I consider to be a correctable, or at least investigate-able issue. Say what you want I'm not responding after this unless Bungie DIRECTLY replies. I can't make everyone understand my frustration and that is appearant, but I don't really care about random peoples negative BS just so you can have something to say on a board and make yourself feel more important. That's not contributing, it's not helping, and just shows your immaturity and ignorance. Again thanks to those looking to help and so forth, but I'm sure I've unleashed the Troll gates, so get ready for a party wipe.
