WHO THOUGHT FARMING FOR ESSENTAIL ELEMENTS WOULDBE A FUN FREAKING QUEST?????????? THIS IS THE MOST BORING THING EVER
Seriously.... who on Earth/Mars/Venus/Moon OK'd this quest????
I have 4/10 solar thingys and im gunna rip my head off and eat it if I have to open anymore helium coils. The Solar Sword will be the only exotic sword I will get.....THIS IS NOT WORTH GRINDING FOR. JUST LET ME SHOOT STUFF
Remember Y1, nobody liked farming for materials......still goes the same thing for Y2. Ya think they would learn.

Edit: was Y1 player. Look at emblems. Didn't farm in Y1 for same reason it was boring imo. Make an exciting quest for the swords. I'm grateful that they are not RNG, but it's just not that interesting of a quest

was not that big of a deal. waiting on armsday and will have my 3rd sword. took me about ~1-1/2 hours to do each time. not that hard. heck, I was thankful when we realized we didn't need to go through the crucible parts of the quest for 2nd and 3rd sword. frankly, I was tickled pink all we have to do is farm some stuff and kill aluk-hul and his homies -and for those who don't know the Exotic Swords DO have value above the legendaries, -they can hold up to nearly 50% more ammo for "regular" attacks -and each one has a unique "special" attack -- the arc shoots a bolt of lightning, a projectile attack, extremely useful PVE, and even seen some good use in PVP ----the raze will stun majors and some ultras with it's special attack (this is the core of the sword strat for the black spindle mission... the arc and void don't stun ultras) ------the void has a circular attack that would be good for clearing groups of adds clustered around you (least useful IMO)

5 RepliesIt's the one quest that finally felt like a proper MMO crafting "quest." I was pretty bored doing it myself (3 times), but I've done a lot worse while crafting some swanky gear in WoW. And really, for a 310 exotic sword that is pretty OP, that quest was more than fair.

I decided to finally ghost hunt and got all the materials for void and arc swords while doing so. If you do something else while farming, it goes pretty quickly

You couldn't buy the stuff, you had to farm it. Literally 1/2 of your time was spent farming this crap if you wanted to max out gear. There were literally routes people would take to farm this garbage.... Destiny NASCAR 500.

I got it done for all 3 swords in 2 hours. Really not that bad if you know the good farm routes.

1 ReplyThe others are certainly worth it, particularly the arc sword (ranged attack). Now the tedious part is yet to come, getting 500 ability kills. That's a couple hours hours farming hive on the "Dark Beyond" mission on heroic. Hope you're not using a warlock.

2 RepliesLol amateurs go to where your farming and string them together. Collect leave the area then return and rinse and repeat!! Took me 20-30 mins for one sword.

3 RepliesShould have played Mop WoW where you actually started a farm in one of the zones.. or any WoW end game content where you need to do multiple daily quests for a month just to unlock another quest hub that gives you the option of lessening how long it takes to unlock the next hub by allowing you to complete more quests.. basically imagine doing the Shaxx questline as a prerequisite to being able to get into trials, then imagine having to go flawless each week for another month before being able to buy the gear.... that's what a real grind is, not this weak shit. Find something real to complain about.

took me little over an hour, i got to 7 soliton flares or whatever they're called and got the last 3 in about 6 filaments which was lucky.
