Anyone who is still below 310 most likely does not have a lot of raid experience. Of course 310+ isn't needed for the raid or nightfalls, but neither was Gjallarhorn.
The majority of the time , a 318 will be better than a 305. It's just common sense. The higher ranked player, is almost always more experienced.
Stop whining that you got denied from a group. Make your own group. People are allowed to set standards for their groups.
Edit- so much salt. People are missing the point. EVERYONE HAS A FEW RARE EXCEPTIONS. However, most of the time, the higher leveled character will be better. It's just common sense. People posting in #recruitment aren't going to sit around and hear your sob story about why you are still 307, but you can run relic like a champ. (Maybe you can). It's just not worth the risk when you can spend thirty seconds to pick up a few 318 players. Think before you comment.
Edit 2: lots of confusion and insults. This post is not about me. I take low levels in all the time. I am just explaining why others don't.
Edit 3: I'll try to make it more simple for some thick commenters. Take the 318 community, and take the 310 community. AS A WHOLE, who is a better group? Obvioulsy the higher leveled one. Maybe not 9/10, but that's not the point. The point is, if a player asks for 316+, he will almost always get better players than if he had asked for 310+. This should be obvious
I agree. I've had this same discussion with the same responses. People don't seem to get the point that a higher level player is on average going to be better than a lower level player. I don't know why this is so difficult to understand for some. Yes there are exceptions and special circumstances and individual cases that aren't this way. But over a large sampling, I expect this is the result you'd get.
And even if it wasn't true, what else can someone go on for determining the ability of another player quickly. The light level is all there is. You can't take the time to quiz every new fireteam invitee or look up their player stats and evaluate them. So this is what happens.
Dadkev gets it. Very well said
Lol all these people complaining about bad RNG. Ever here of challenge mode? There are no longer any excuses to be below 310
Too long to read: if you have a group of 10 players, 5 are level 310, 5 are 315+, and you know nothing about them, which five would you pick to raid with?

I would pick the ones with highest grimoire and mics fk light level

1 ReplySorry man played with plenty of 310s who poo poo on players who are 318/319 You still for the most part get semi carried through a raid and just because rngesus is on your side it does not equal skill
-
2 RepliesBack when kf first came out and people were 305-308 for trials I was 296 and went flawless 3 times
-
I find myself agreeing with you, however, I hosted a HM raid for my clan last week where most people were 305-310 light and never completed the hard golgoroth challenge. They all listened carefully and we got it done after a few attempts. I then joined a group of players whose light was around 315 average, who said they were experienced blah blah. They kept dying in the most ridiculous ways, it took so long I had to leave them to it. That's happened to me a few times with different teams who claim to be experienced.

Edited by dme_aj: 1/10/2016 9:28:09 PMInteresting question bud, would u take a 304/305 fresh hard who has loads of experience on his alt account and can raid with his eyes shut or a 315+ who has been lucky with challenge mode and got carried? I know thats not what u asking but just interested lol
-
1 ReplyYes a 318 is likely better than a 305, but the difference between a 315 and say a 312 is solely RNG.
-
1 ReplyI always hated in WoW how ppl ALWAYS wanted ilvl and gear score that were HIGHER than the requirement for the raid bc it's like, HOW WILL WE GET THERE IF WE CAN NEVER FIND A GROUP lol.. You shouldn't need a guild to pug dumb shit loke vault of archavon or some easy WoD counter parts. In this game tho u can usually find a group who doesn't care so it's not a big deal when people want 315+ I'm honestly at the point where I look for 315+ bc I'm sick of horrible lfg groups
-
4 Replies... Or you know, the guy got carried and just got all of the loot for himself. Some play really well, but don't have enough to time to get good loot.
-
11 RepliesYour post is perfectly logical but the casual players won't understand. If I'm going to pug a group for hard mode or challenge mode the requirement is going to be 315 minimum. If you try hard mode without being 311 you're not even doing enough damage to the adds to make your spot in the group worth the time to run the raid.
-
I completely agree with this. People who are saying its RNG are just stupid. If you complete every challenge mode or even warpriest and ogre you should be 315 light.
-
My hunter is 310 because I keep gettin the same pulse rifle an chest over an over I was a forever 29 member so I don't expect anything less from destiny #wherestheboots
-
All this about better rng challenge mode has Been around for 5 weeks now all challenges give 320 gear so if you do the challenge you should be atleast 315, I hardly run the raid and all 3 of my characters are atleast 315
-
1 ReplyI can't tell you how many times I ran kf with really high light lvl's and they all said the same thing I've done this so many times but how do you run it because I've only done it this way. Or can you show me where you guys are going to be or where to stand when we do this part. Light lvl doesn't equal skill it means you get lucky with rng.
-
2 RepliesWhy does lower level mean less experience? What if it's his/her second acount?
-
What does level do with experience? It means bad RNG
-
1 ReplyYou only really need 310 for oryx that's all
-
3 RepliesMore light=better RNG. Common sense
-
2 RepliesHigher level does not mean your better. It just means that you play more cause all loot is based on RNG, genius.
-
Majority of the times when I ran KF with my friends back in Oct & Nov it was always 1-2 players getting drops with higher light than what everyone else got. And to make things worse, it was always the shitty players that got the high light gear. So yeah take the shitty players that have higher light gear because RNG rewards the worst players.

1 ReplyThis is why the pvp community laughs at us raid guys. Please stop with these post you're killing us bruh!
-
5 RepliesUnder 310 doesn't always equal less experience, more often than not it's due to shit rng
-
2 RepliesLol my peregrine is trash lmao git gud scrub I'll rek you swear on me mum kid
-
1 ReplyGit gud scroob. I'll fooshin rifle u
-
2 RepliesCriticizes OP. Uses OPs logic when using LFG. Let's be honest.
-
To me, it's an experience thing. There have been several ways to get light level pretty high without raiding. Asking for 315+ or even higher gives you a better chance of weeding out people who may only have a couple clears under their belt.

5 RepliesI'm 310 so fuckin what? cool, you're better then me at a video game. where does that get you in life. fuck off
