Why is therr barely any sunbreakers now? And so many strikes?

So ever since the sunbreaker nerf/buff, 99% titans use strikers like in Year One. What happened? Did they destroyed the subclass [i][b]THAT[/b][/i] bad? [spoiler]or was it most people used iy because it was easy, and a bit broken to use?[/spoiler] You tell me. [spoiler]Inb4 salt[/spoiler]

  • They should replace sunbreakers with a different subclass and name it something other than a piece of armor. [spoiler]only year one players will know[/spoiler] Sunbreakers don't do anything now.

      They nerfed it into oblivion just as they do everything else. They overdid it with the Sunbreaker. The hammers are horribly inaccurate and slow now. All they needed to do was reduce the defense buff, but they decided to nerf everything instead. I've had so many direct hits and they don't even kill the enemy.

    • Cause they can't spam hammers and kill people. Use it like you would golden gun and it still wreaks. But striker is overall a better more rounded class and double lighting Nades are op.

    • Yes it was too easy to get kills before as SB. But also they over nerfed it a bit, hit detection is wayyy off. (And hit detection problem from what I've heard has been with every class)

    • The introduction of the peregrine greaves makes it most versatile. Plus the increased melee since the update makes the storm fist a near 1 hit. Not to mention the rediscovered technique of striker based area of affect grenades and finally the dunk bound flashbang. People are just picking up on more class diversity I guess. (Although I feel this is going to slowly rise for defenders soon)

    • I only used sunbreaker because everyone used it and that it was so op only way to fight it was with the same thing, where as I just enjoyed playing as striker

        I've noticed the same thing but I think it's because the sunbreaker class was clearly over powered. The people who mained it got used to only that and only have expectations that it should be that way, it's how everyone is. If you have something that's better then everyone else's you want it to stay that way, but the game is definitely more balanced now. People need to learn to adjust and roll with the punches. The sunbreaker still destroys. My cousin just got the game and I was helping him power level in crucible. I played a few rounds leveling him from 35-40 topping in every game with 5.0+ k/d with only the base class just being unlocked.

          • Hammers are terrible now. Since they nerfed them the bugs are horrendous.. Hammers only slightly damaging enemies... Not tracking enemies as good now and not to mention not letting you throw when clearly you still have super energy left.

            Nerfed damage reduction, nerfed cauterize, nerfed proximity detonation, nerfed tracking, and you're lucky to get a single kill outside of in your face ranges. Even then the hammers sometimes do literally zero damage upon direct impact. They completely broke Sunbreakers. They're super inconsistent now.

              • The single biggest problem is the nerf to the hammer's blast radius when dealing with its proximity detonation. Example- you throw a hammer and it explodes before the target, not killing the enemy. Bungie's nerf put too much inconsistency in the super. A proper nerf would have been moving the heal on kill perk to the same tree as tracking. The 50% damage reduction instead of 55% was needed though.
