I don't get it
Edit: just so you are all aware Iv been playing destiny sense beta and release. I know all about the loot cave and VOG all that year one stuff. But I really didn't know how to tell the difference lol a lot of people calling me a noob and all that I may not have 320 max light on 3 separate characters , I actually have a job and bills and friends. So that's for all the haters.
For the people who are cool enough to be a real person and idk... Talk, then to you I say thank you.
Edit 2: I don't really think you guys can base it off the grimoire because mine is below 4000. To be honest idk what mine is. I'm just wondering if or how you can tell someone has played the game from when it came out till now.
Did the get it at release?
Or just for the ttk ? And claim to be OG players ?
That's my question.
Edit 3: wow what response you guys are great! What turned from a simple question became a top trending post ! I appreciate all the Input guys.

1 ReplyEdited by nicchae_KR: 12/24/2015 7:19:24 AMIf you look at someone's stat using app it tells you whether you are YR1 or 2. I just checked you and Destiny app says you are YR1 player

3 RepliesAsk to see there ghorn. If you're a true year one player it's still in your inventory on all 3 characters
-
I don't think it matters as long as people are cool
-
3 RepliesI with you man I have played since beta and I'm not 320 on any character but I wish that the beta or day 1 players had an emblem or something to show that they were there at kick off.
-
You can't really. A skilled player will be able to move and shoot. Don't really think a year 1 player will be better then a year 2 player just because they've been around longer. What I can say is that when you look at the year 1 end game activities there was variation and skills were acquired. POE was a good training ground for moving and shooting. Crotas End and VOG were basically stand and kill encounters. Kings Fall has elements of both.

1 ReplySimple: If there is no Taken King logo in the top right corner of their gear(besides ghost shell) the person is either a noob or year 1.
-
Ask them if they know what the Black Hammer is and if they think it was good
-
Usually grimore. If it's really low it's a dead give away. Nomarlly a year one play is atleast really close to 4000 or higher.
-
Ehh I don't really care either way. I've been playing since Beta, started on XB1 but sold it and bought a PS4. Whether or not someone started playing at the beginning makes very little difference to me.
-
I think it would be cool if there was some identifier of how many years someone has been on Destiny. Considering the universe is meant to have a 10 year span. Could just be in their expanded profile in-game.

Year 1 WE STOPPED PLAYING AND FOUND THE LIGHT AND WE DONT BUY ANY MORE ACTIVISION OR BUNGIE CONTENT AND THEY CAN GO GET -blam!-ED

Edited by A Stupid Person: 12/23/2015 2:17:35 AMIf they remember the day xur sold HoPF. The forums were at the saltiest times back then their mid year 1

Founder's Seal or unobtainable weapons/emblems from Y1: Y1 Flawless emblem Longbow Synthesis Non-raid obtainable weapons also would count

It doesn't matter. But the fact that so many people lie about it, it becomes an issue. If someone is from year 2, that is fine. But if they are in a year 1 thing with me, CE, PoE, VoG, they should be honest, and say if they haven't been there. That way they can be told what will happen, and how the mechanics work.

Does it really matter? When someone started playing a video game is no concern of mine.
