I got hooked to gaming in a funny way. A guy I liked came over to show me his game and I had no desire to watch or anything. He forgot it and one day I put it in.
Final fantasy VIII in the original PlayStation. I got addicted. Played and played and played and changed the discs. Then got to the end of the game and realized I hadn't gotten doom train. So I had a heck of a time defeating the boss in fact I didn't. So I started over. Literally worked my ass off to beat that game with no guides or Internet to look at to figure out how to do it. When the end came I cried I won't lie. Hundreds of hours... Side quests, trying to level my characters, pass the tests to get more money.
What was your first game that got you hooked? What was your story?

I forgot how it even came to be. We had had an Xbox for a number of years, but I it was only later that I realized it was meant for something more than just guitar hero on christmas or Nitro Kart on Saturday. I think I really understood multiplayer gaming after watching a Halo Reach machinima on youtube...i remembered Halo 2 from my childhood and i was ecstatic about Reach. I bought it immediately. Thus commenced the four years of my halo/gaming addiction. Im only at rank Hero on Reach. I havent played it since destiny came out and i got a One. I am happy to say that i will be returning to the neverending credit grind when it comes out again through backwards compatibility:)

First system was the NES when I was about 9. When I was about13-14 I got a super Nintendo the day they were released (Saved my paper route money). Kind of fell out of gaming though Highschool because I was more interested in playing music and skateboarding. Then Ocarina of time on 64 was released. That's when I got back into gaming. I will always come back for Zelda.

Edited by PhoenixFiredUp: 12/9/2015 9:58:27 PMSuper Mario Bros./ Duck Hunt. Yes, I know I'm old. I played on the Atari, but that game was a game changer. Played that for hours. Still like going back to it.

1 ReplyHard to say really. I was really into watching others play games rather than playing them myself at first. The first games I loved to watch were Privateer and Command and Conquer. I eventually was able to get a computer myself that was good enough to play games and a generic joystick. First game I got was Wing Commander 4. I was blown away with the entire game. Multiple choices, multiple endings, amazing combat. I was hooked on gaming and space sims from then.

1 ReplyEdited by Senor Crouch: 12/8/2015 4:19:41 PMWhen I was young, a cousin of mine had to babysit my brother and I. We went over his house and he brought out this box of a machine and hooked it up to the TV. He then brought out this golden square thing. It was super shiny. He asked, "Have you ever seen this before?" I answered, "No." I was completely enthralled by it. He placed the square inside the machine and pressed a button on it. I looked up at the TV, something was happening. What appeared on screen was:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyMKWJ5e1kg
And the rest is history.
