I got hooked to gaming in a funny way. A guy I liked came over to show me his game and I had no desire to watch or anything. He forgot it and one day I put it in.
Final fantasy VIII in the original PlayStation. I got addicted. Played and played and played and changed the discs. Then got to the end of the game and realized I hadn't gotten doom train. So I had a heck of a time defeating the boss in fact I didn't. So I started over. Literally worked my ass off to beat that game with no guides or Internet to look at to figure out how to do it. When the end came I cried I won't lie. Hundreds of hours... Side quests, trying to level my characters, pass the tests to get more money.
What was your first game that got you hooked? What was your story?

Mass Effect 1/2/3 have been the most addicting games so far. Fallout and KOTOR are also some of my favorites. As far as a PVP experience... nothing yet has beaten the good times we had as a clan playing battlefield: Bad Company 2. BF3 and 4 were good, but not the same magic as BC2. SWTOR, STO and TSW are still very fun PC MMO games to revisit from time to time to catch up on newly released content. These days I regret the greed being shown by publishers causing them to exert influence on developers to strip games of content to be later sold as DLC expansion. The worst to date has to be Destiny. I can't say I wasted my $$$ but I do feel some lingering stretching trauma from being bent over by Activision.

Pokemon Crystal was the first game to really grab me and keep me playing, while Battlefront 2 is where my love for shooters began.

2 RepliesI played since I was 3 but the game I loved the most and that I can remember is definitely Spyro the Dragon. I loved that game so much it was my childhood.

I always liked gaming but oblivion and skyrim were the games that got me completely hooked and I found out about skyrim because I was looking up the game ryse when they first started talking about it and I typed in roman styled rpg, not remembering what the game was called and found skyrim. I ended up buying oblivion because it was a couple of months before skyrim was released and loved it, then got skyrim on opening day (11/11/11 greatest release date in history by the way) and never looked back since, I also paid my tributes to ryse even though it didn't deserve my $60 because it lead me to the elder scrolls series

Edited by George Foman: 12/11/2015 6:05:00 PMRide to Hell: Retribution This game changed my life forever. After finishing the game I cried for hours and then hung myself only for the rope to break, heightening my unbearable agony. The trauma was so great it induced a coma from which I awoke with autism, cancer, and ebolaids. 10/10 would play again

Discovers Legend of Zelda Franchise and gaming as a whole after being a Pokemon only person for a year."Huh, so Nintendo don't just make Pokemon?"

I used to play a lot of Baulders gate and stuff like that when I was little, I'm talking like 2 years old. I would watch my mother play and if she had to do something I would take over, which usually just meant running around and clicking on enemies and usually dying. I think that's what got me into the concept of gaming. But the game that me a gamer was definitely Star Wars battlefront 2. I played that game over and over for a year and a half, and by the time I got bored of that game I was hooked on games in general.

1 ReplyEdited by LC Pkpeople: 12/12/2015 1:14:34 AMThats great because FFVIII was also the game that got me going haha. I also did the exact same thing as well. And it took me like 2 hours to beat the final boss my first time haha. Now im doing a no level up play through. I lied. There was also some starfox 64 and mario kart, and mario 64 that brought me to the gaming side aswell.

Well. It was many years ago, in a galaxy far far away. Game: Star Wars Battlefront Console: PS2 I remember it like it was yesterday. When I got this game in my small hands (yes I was once a young boy like you) I knew the game would be a life changer. And my god was it. Hour after hour I spent playing galactic conquest trying my absolute heart out to control my part of space. It wasn't until the NEXT battlefront came out until I put that game down. And ALAS. THE new Battlefront has arrived. And we only hope and pray that the legacy can continue. Sorry to nerd out on you all. Haha

1 ReplyPaper Mario: The Thousand Year Door was the first game I played religiously. I played games before that, like Mario 64, and Kirby 64, Banjo-Kazooie, etc. but Paper Mario was the one that truly made me a gamer. I've lost track of the number of times that I've beat that game.
