I hate it when people say you must be KDR 1 or higher to play with us, KDR isn't a valid and fair way to evaluate someones skill. Say a really good player joins a game and proceeds to be trolled into oblivion by campers and shotgun addicts and their KDR drops below say 1.0 or higher, that player is now regarded as a bad player and that they suck. . .
I personally find this unfair and furthermore someone with a positive KDR could just be someone who camps with a sniper rifle at someones spawn or someone who sits around a corner with a shotgun neither of which has any real skill they just camp.
So can people stop with the KDR requirments because you never know how good someone is until you see them play.

I agree.

3 RepliesKDR doesn't mean shit.

Edited by HurMedic: 12/7/2015 11:55:23 PMWho in here has the lowest k/d and wants to play a trials card? Edit: I'm on ps4 not n64
-
1 Replykd means nothing, if I only ever played pubs I would have a 4 kd lol
-
3 RepliesKDR shows consistency and people with high KDRs usually play consistently and know the correct plays to make.
-
2 RepliesKd is the only way to gauge skill If u come up against a shotgunner than u use a shotgun If u come up against a sniper u use a sniper If u come up against a hammer of sol than u use black spindle and 1 hit them

so why should I have to play with people that are not up to par with my skill level when I'm trying to go flawless and my buddies aren't on?
-
3 RepliesEdited by TheBetterYou: 12/7/2015 11:04:23 PMYou never play pvp. Why are you upset about it? Where is all the 1.5 or higher guys? Did they finally -blam!- off to the newest CoD?
-
5 RepliesA person with a higher K/D probably knows how to outplay most players to get kills, they are the ones to play more safer, they would be the ones who also know how to take advantage. Also, some of the top players in the game have extremely high K/Ds, because they know how to play their opponents most of the time. They know how to stay alive and kill. ~TheGreatNike

3 RepliesConsidering before Destiny I was a PC gamer and hadn't played a console shooter since the original XBox, I went from a 0.39 to a 0.75. I play control, and 93% of the time I get "objectively correct". I play to win for the team, not to get stellar stats.
-
2 RepliesI agree kdr means nothing, I get a ton of assists but assists don't help kdr and no one looks at assist rate.
-
It's always the people who have below 1.0 who claim kdr doesn't matter.
-
Someone didn't get to play trials with a team
-
I think kd is important but you shouldn't solely base someone off. It's probably a good indicator but not just a single option. For example usually the people I play sweats with and stuff that have a higher kd are usually better than those with a lower.

1 ReplyWhile not 100% accurate kdr still shows consistency. Looking at dtr/kdr/combat rating shows more of the big picture. Mines top 2% dtr/ 1.37k/d and 133 combat rating. I would consider my stats "ok" but I still get tons of invites anytime I post on lfg. Proof that most aren't looking for 1.5+. They just want at least average
-
1 ReplyLuck balances out. For every game where you have bad luck you will eventually have good luck. Over the course of time your KDR will tell the story about how good you are. You can see a breakdown of stats on a lot of sites that will tell you if you are improving. If you had a 0.7 KDR in year 1 but in year 2 your KDR is 1.2, your overall KDR could be around 1.0 but you might be able to argue that you are actually better. If all your KDRs are bad, you are just bad.

I remember when I use to play nothing but crucible back in the how days. I joined a group whom I thought were raiding but instead they were doing crucible. Anyways one guy must've looked up my stats and said, he can stay he seems pretty average. I then proceeded to be the top one or two on the team every game, I guess they were below average.
-
1 ReplyI see countless number of 310+ on the bottom of crucible list when game is done. I dont do trials but i love control, clash, and iron banner. Which i have 1+ kd but i wont judge you if you are under 1. I am here to have fun and get to meet nice people. Not some -blam!-ing control freak asshat that probably has no -blam!-ing life. Typical pattern of these elitist asshats... Because they have nothing to show in real life. I have met some good players with less than 1kd and they were awesome. Its not -blam!-ing kdr that makes you good player but attitude and the brain... Learn to have better attitudes...

1 bad game wont drop your overall k/d

Kd is useful for many things. First and foremost it shoes whether or not you kill more than you are killed. A good Kd can show proficiency and adaption. For example, shotguns trolls and campers. A competent player will learn to adapt and overcome such strategies with or without stooping to those levels. Lastly, any Kd above 1.0, especially those above 2.0, show that one is capable of great things. Or (s)he's just a pub stomper who can outplay bad people.
-
3 RepliesKdr is bs. Nobody seems to know that. Just go on destiny tracker and search up their name. Then look for their trueskill rank under crucible. Or even more specifically under trials.
-
My problem is they should have reset stats at year 2,it's Bullshit. I have a positive kd in trials and on my all 3 of my characters ,but it doesn't show,my monthly is is always around 1.234567.
-
KDR shows your average for every match played how can you even blame shotguns for low K/D lol...
-
I try to use DTR instead. I find KDR to be important also, but not top priority. I feel like I'm seasoned in crucible, and I expect the same range of skill in a competitive scene. in pubs? we're having fun in year 1.

2 RepliesEdited by JamesB2395: 12/7/2015 6:01:13 PMSo if my trials kd is a 2.23 someone with a .5 is equally as good?
-
Edited by BURNANATOR13: 12/7/2015 6:02:51 PMSorry but yeah it is an indication of skill. My LFG post will say something like 1.5 or 1.7 kd or higher. I might let someone in with 1.3 if I am pressed for time or dont care to lobby warrior. Git gud or stay outta the lighthouse.or get someone willing to carry you.
