This Game of Mine... | Sector 49, The Golden City
This is it. The moment of truth. Make or break. The beginning of the end. The finale. This is what Felix was preparing for as he awaited his hot nachos and breadsticks. He sat at the nacho boutique, struggling to focus on tackling the biggest challenge of his career.
June Bellicose would be here, soon-
"HOT NACHOS AND BREADSTICKS!"
"Oi, that's me!"
Soon enough. It only left one question for Felix: Where was Rose?
Open to those who apply: any VInc, Emma, And anyone else who has met Felix or Ophelia.
Rose had been waiting for him months prior, in the exact location he had said to meet, and for a duration much longer then he should have had her wait. With the hope of his plan coming to fruition long passed, a direct and obvious result of the no-show, she wouldn't be showing up. That is, if the perfectly timed and overtly convenient little walks of hers didn't end up magically setting her to pass right by him, and slipping on a loose flagstone to smack into him. It almost broke the forth wall with how the convenient walks had made her pass so conveniently past at such a convenient time, and the narration was so detailed and so much work was put into it, this is the type of stuff she should be paid for.... Rose falls onto Felix, who is knocked out of his seat and into his rear. As he falls his elbow flips an adjoining table, splattering a cross-eyed man's fruit juice across a passing Nigerian prince's laptop, which sparks and tazes the man to fall into a stack of plates, which roll and trip a waiter, who falls and flips yet another table... This table goes on to cause a cacophony of events culminating in a watermelon exploding and spilling taco sauces on Felix's shirt, making a stain the size of a dime.

Edited by Sylok's Defiler: 11/29/2015 3:39:50 PM"Ahhh." Felix stared remorsefully to his shirt, mildly upset that the delicious material dotted a very visible place. Then he saw the flipped table and the short-circuited laptop. "AAHHHHH." He scanned over to a discombobulated Rose. In that moment he thought that this was her problem to fix, not his. A furious, spine-chilling roar erupted from behind the boutique counter: The manager was livid. His eyes bore into Felix's soul with absolute hate. "AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!" He screamed as he picked the petit Rose up by the waist and darted out of sight. "Oh my GOD we are fuсked! How you doin'!?"
-
Rose rubs her eyes, no concern apparent in her at all. What...?
-
"Did you get the stuff?!"
-
... ...I got the stuff months ago.... When you told me to meet you that day.... Months ago....
-
Felix halted himself, dropping Rose face first into a black trash bag in the alleyway he fled into. He lifted his arm and checked his watch. After a minute or so, he crouched back down to Rose. "No... It says that today's the day. Right here," He tapped the date on his watch, "One week after I asked you." Felix then proceeded to pick you up again, and began running.
-
Rose sighs. She knew it really had been the span of time she had said, but it was obvious that any attempt at telling him otherwise would be redundant in the end. She follows both his pace and path nonetheless.
-
At the end of the alley, Felix stops to eye a corner street building across the way. He turns to Rose, pointing at the top floor of the building. "So I have a confession to make:" he sincerely says as he tears the watch off of his wrist, "The amount of time HAS been a few months. I lied because I couldn't find you to tell you that the plan had changed. You know, you're actually really hard to find... Anyways let me explain: June Bellicose got here earlier than I though she would've. She's on the top floor of the astartes recruitment station. Records on this place stated they hadn't accepted any recruits within the past month, but everyday I stopped in this alley to see at least a dozen enter every day. I tracked June to this spot; it only made sense that she's taken control in there. You're familiar with her powers, yeah?"
-
She didn't expect him to suddenly change his mind, but with her current moody demeanor any kind of "good" emotion gets wiped away before it has a chance to show. Rose instead keeps her eyes down and to herself, she fidgets heavily with the fiber of her clothing. Well.... Mainly the eyes right...?
-
"Mhmm. If she has space marines under her control..." He didn't want to think about what June would do. "It's a recruitment office, so I need you to look like a recruit. I got you a uniform and I can either give you a wig or trim your hair. Your call."
-
But..... ok.... I guess... Just give me a wig... She sighs again and stops fidgeting as she awaits her disguise. The thought of doing anything different with herself would be as unappealing as it came, but she wasn't sure of herself lately anyway...
-
Before Felix commences the makeover, he tilts his head with a worried complexion. "Everything alright?"
-
Yeah... Why...?
-
"Doesn't sound like it. That wasn't convincing at all." He crouched down, slightly below eye level.
-
She lowers her eyes once more, keeping from looking at Felix entirely. It's nothing.... Let's just move on...
-
"Rose... It's not convincing to me. It certainly won't convince June. She will kill you if you come across as shady or dishonest." He sighed. This wasn't helping the situation at all. "If you get it off your chest now, maybe it'll help."
-
Edited by Kinda Red: 11/30/2015 12:11:09 PMSo the plan to be more honest is to lie....? I don't even need a disguise or anything if she's half as good as everyone says she is, I would just be more dishonest...
-
"Well That's- you can't... Huh... Good point. But you still look like you're going in to cause trouble..." Felix starts rubbing his chin, delving into thought. "You got any better ideas?"
-
We could just walk in the front door and go talk to June like we meant to...
-
"Talk about what?" Felix turned, startled by the voice behind him out in the street. He wasn't surprised when he turned to see two space marine bodyguards and a slender woman with beach blonde hair, but fear ran down his spine. "June." Felix said despicably. "Salutations, citizens. It's been awhile. So... What were you going to ask?" "We w-" "Did I give you permission to speak? I asked the lady."
-
Rose looks between June and Felix as they speak. She had been told there was some animosity involving literally killing each other... she actually found slightly comical that in this instant the first thing she thought was they reacted to each other more like annoying family members. That made her feel better that she wouldn't have to jump between the two. Yeah... There's a couple people looking for you apparently, and I was supposed to find you for another guy... She tries hard to remember the details of what and why she was here, time wasn't so great on her already bad memory. Rose also left Veronica out, no need to broadcast that part and put her in any more danger... Instead of remembering something that might help explain what she was doing and why, she remembers the Metal Gold Rose on her wrist, and lifts it to her front, then taps it with her fingers. Gave me this with his weird... Stuff...
-
With a very subtle nod of her head, one of the legionnaires advanced to you and seized your arm to examine the strange bracelet. June paced a few intervals of the road in front of Rose and Felix, pompously smiling. The second space marine set his lasgun sights on Felix, but was keen to watch his companion as well. "Well, miss... Whoeveryouare, you have to understand something. I'm a very popular lady, in more negative connotations than positive. You'll just have to tell who ever sent you that they'll need to wait their turn like everyone else." "Madam," The first soldier interjected, "I've never see this metal before in my life. It won't even come off her wrist..." "Then try harder." She gazed back to the mischievous duo with content purple eyes. They flashed a pretty hue of lavender. It caught and held the attention of both Felix and Rose. She smiled wider. "So tell me dear, and be honest with me, why are you really here? Don't you know this Neanderthal who's dragging you around is trying to murder people like me?"
-
Rose found her eyes pretty for certain, but the blood in her veins kept June from being quite as hypnotic as she might have thought.... She didn't pull her arm back sharply with each tug from the soldier. Rose still had that quality of trust, at least. The apparent move on June's part has gone over her head entirely as well. You can stop pulling, he won't take it off. For now it's kind of benign anyway so no need to worry about that I guess... Thought you might just recognize it.... Well, uuuummm anyways. I did just kind of say why we're here so.... Creepy dude said to go find you and stuff... So.... Found you....
-
Edited by Sylok's Defiler: 12/1/2015 3:31:33 PMThe Marine tugs harder, visibly struggling to remove it. June cocked her head to the side, still holding Rose's gaze with a masterful look. "But why? Do tell now, I have better things to do."
-
...you have better things to do then say hi to Felix and another visitor...? That doesn't make much sense.... Weird. I already said that I'm not him so I don't know why he would want to find you or something but he seems kinda shady... And he's obviously not good because he hurts people just because.... So admittedly he's a jerkface and should be locked in a box....
