Bungie, Please Please Help us Non Raiders get over 300 light.

Bungie. I have been a player since day one. Like A lot of people here Work full time and have two small boys and a wife to take care of. On any given Week I try to find time in the late evenings between 9:00 -11:00 pm two to four times a week. I typically try to play with one or two of the I have few Destiny friends I have. On a good night we have enough for a three man strike. I have found that Bungee seems to have made it extremely hard if not impossible for the people like me who can seldom reliably run the raid to break or reach the 300 light mark. In your last patch notes you indicate that we will all want to be at least light level 303 for the next Iron Banner in December. How would you recommend those of us who can not realistically raid to reliably reach above 300 light? I have tried everything including several raid attempts with pickup groups that routinely fall apart a few stages in. I noticed a few higher level armor pieces dropping in 305 range this Iron banner but They did little to get me up to 303 as the light level. Can we maybe think about some higher level light gear for the three man teams and solo players please?

  • Today at 2 pm Pacific Time or 5 pm Eastern time I will be carrying 4 people through a normal mode kings fall raid. I would prefer people who have done the raid once or have never completed it but know what to do. This is the perfect place to join if you can never get a group together. There are two ways you can qualify. I am on Xbox one so sorry everyone else 1. Comment below with your gamertag 2. Please be above 295 light if you could and please know how to do the raid even if you have never completed it First 4 who comment get this Raid but don't worry if you want to join these types of raids all you have to do is subscribe to my channel where I will announce when I will do these or send me a friend request on Xbox. You have no reason to be that high if you aren't raiding. The damage you're dealing is capped off so you aren't op. If you aren't raiding then being above 300 gives you zero advantage. If you're going to complain then at least make sense. PS: light levels in iron banner are bullshit. I can still one shot with a no land beyond from year one at light level 120,same with trials and I notice next to no difference being 315 or 250 or even 150. PSS: trials gives easy raid tier gear at 5 wins AND gold and silver packages. You can be the worst player ever and still complete those bounties and boom! Raid tier gear. Easy as pie and doesn't require a raid team or even good players.

  • Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner are great ways of bumping your light >300

    • I hear ya mate. Coupla hours a few times a week is not enough to grind the copious amounts of crap you need to break 300 solo. I am totally with you. I reckon there should be a way to reach max light no matter your play style. You wanna raid? Raid. Get some epic lookin raid gear with kickarse perks. You wanna smash pvp? Smash pvp and have some ridiculously bright gear with pvp oriented perks drop. You wanna run solo? Run solo and earn some top shelf Vanguard gear with pve perks. Its not a difficult concept. Enable everyone to get max light regardless of how they prefer/have to play. Everyone should be able to get to 320 eventually. Make the differences in gear be primarily the aesthetics and perks rather than the base stats.

      • The only way I think it would be fair for people that aren't interested in raiding nor PvP would be to partake in quests that have a serious grind to them. For example armor would be rewarded by putting together the armor yourself: -50 spin metal leafs harvested (can't buy them) -50 helium filaments -Quest Specific Item -Obtain *essence of a random enemy* (200 kills worth) Then: -Field test the armor (complete 5 strikes with the armor equips) Then: -Return to the tower to receive your random armor piece drop at 300-310.

      • Trials is probably easier with higher light. If you don't care about trials and can't raid there is no point. Raiding is fun, but I can understand the lack of time.

      • If you don't raid you have no reason to go much over 300 any how and if you can't make th3 time to raid don't play an MMO, enjoy a nice single player game you can play for an hour and then save just my .02

      • They have with the iron banner which was handing out 300+ gear Then you have the trials bounties each week that can give you a chance at 300+

      • They did. I was 298 across the board, only did the raid once and got a primary at 303 and special at 302. Did IB to rank 5 (pretty much by participating) and now I'm 304, 303, and 302

      • I mean they added the 310 relic to Iron Banner after rank 3 that you get as a participation trophy. What else do you expect for NOT doing what's required to get to the light level you desire? Do you expect a simple route to get where YOU want to be? Do you expect to get something every time you simply participate? Is everyone else supposed to discount their efforts to make the path easier for you since you are having problems doing it?

      • The raid is the only reason to be 300+. Besides that. Being sub 300 is fine.

      • Honestly, there's no reason to be 300+ if you aren't Raiding, as far as PvE goes. The Raid is the only piece of PvE content that requires a light level that high. I don't raid so not being at the 300 level doesn't bother me much. If you really want to hit the cap that badly but don't want to Raid, play Banner and Trials. *shrug* i don't Raid and i can't stand PvP, so 300+ is obviously not for me, and I'm okay with this.

        • If you dont have time to raid. Then your best option is to wait for Iron Banner, or Trials. In Iron Banner loot can drop anywhere between 280 light and 310 light. And the package at rank 3 give you an artifact at 310 and rank 5 gives you a good chance at some gear up to 320. It sucks you dont have enough time to raid, but these are provably your best options atm.

        • If you can't raid because of time constraints, why do you need to be max light level? I do get your point, but the only need to be max level is to make the raid easier. Besides, there's iron banner and Trials.

        • Play something else if you can't put the hours in, destiny grind is not for everyone. You could have hit 300+ by playing trials and iron banner or simply infusing nightfall gear by now. Js

        • Best advice I can give is to go on LFG and join a Warpriest or Golgorath fight. Both those have rather simple mechanics and offer good rewards always above 300 (I believe). Once you've run those two bosses on normal a few times and have a decent light level move on to hard mode and do the same. Cheers and good luck.

        • Also you gave to reach 300 to start to get 300plus drops on the regular, I recommend making sure your light level is high as possible when you open engrams

        • No man make better friends iron banner dropped 320 gear all day I got 310 to 314 stuff. Even a crappy group can beat warpriest and on 3 guys that's a chance at 3 drops a week so realistically in 3 weeks you could have 9 weapons/ gear above 300 sorry guy don't be lazy
