1. Most (90%) of the year one weapons do more damage in pvp than year two
2. So you can collect them in your bank to show your self (hey i got it)
3. Because some developers don't know what to do (Won't bring back old raids or eitheric light's use)

I had all but maybe 4-5 yr 1 weapons they were good the only legit use now would be for the blueprints

Ehh not really i used mida Multi-Tool, Found Verdict, Ice Breaker, Venation lll (Legendary), Vex Mythoclast (Beast Mode), Gjallarhorn (Still a Goddess), and a LDR 5001 In trials and Iron Banner. Don't belive BUNGIE'S bullshit lie about light level I went into trials at light level 65 (start trials at a high level/equip starter gear) with only an invective then just Gjallarhorn. But I guess if your wanting them for pve then only Mida Multi-Tool, Gjallarhorn, are about the only good ones for patrols or strikes. As long as your light is atleast 300+ and you equip the weapon/armor you should be in the 280's amd deal alot of damage to the npc's. Year one weapon's are still used and from what BUNGIE said some items are coming to year two. So hopfully we get the good stuff (Etheric Light)
