Edited by Lord Vetinari: 11/1/2015 1:45:13 PMFrom another thread....
toby1kanobi 32m ago Permalink @urmommasbane even if they are lined up they will have slightly different sight lines, position yourself so you are only esposed to one at the end of the line of snipers. I do that on Panteon all the time, free kills Reply Start Related Topic Edit urmommasbane 23m ago Permalink @toby1kanobi Problem was these guys weren't scrubs, and actually hit their head shots. It was impossible to go anywhere. teammates kept booking it around corners trying to get positions, and were massacred. Tried telling them to camp back but no one listens to sense in normal crucible. Reply Start Related Topic Manage: Hide Post Report Mute User toby1kanobi 19m ago Permalink @urmommasbane Still not that bad, pop out ot them crouched, out of habit they will adjust aim for your next pop out, the pop out also lets you see where they are and what height there heads are at (moving aim up and down is a lot slower then a sweep so they will not adjust fast enough to take you out on the peek) adjust whilst in cover, stand and pop snipe, your sweep will be faster than there up down adjust.
Keep your own head level constantly changing

2 RepliesI personally learned how to snipe in halo games. I somehow adapted to destiny sniping. Lol

Use 1000 yard stare. Auto headshots 4 days!

2 RepliesHere's a few exercises I used to become a better sniper. Go on to a patrol and find a head level object, then repeatedly turn around and run around. Randomly aim back to the object, this will improve your target acquisition. Another exercise is to go to Venus, the ember caves. On to the platform in front of the cave where the captain spawns. Below you should be vandals dregs, and shanks. Put on no land beyond, strafe and get only headshots so just take your time. Then switch to your sniper and do the same thing. You should probably practice the first one for about an hour (depending on how bad you are) then the second one for less. Sources: truevanguard video sniping tutorials And pwadigy's Reddit post

Pull RT for kills.

2 RepliesDon't hard scope for too long. If you're afraid of missing a shot but still was to see the radar, continuously tap the left trigger to glance at the radar. But seriously, hard scope for too long and you'll get killed from an unsuspected angle.

6 RepliesFirstly, don't practice in 6v6. There is too much going on to learn anything and it is bad for your game. Second, lower your sensitivity to about 4 Third, find a scope that feels right to you. Fourth, take time with your shots. The better snipers will kill you while you are lining up but that is just fine, and speed will come with time. Fifth, learn head level of a guardian. This makes aiming so much easier, as only horizontal movement is necessary. Sixth, stay at a bit longer of a range than your teammates, as it will help prevent shotguners rushing you. Seventh, use a short to mid range weapon as your primary, as it will help deal with those pesky shotguns. For this I recommend something like the last word, as it can hop fire very accurately but still get kills at mid range. 8th, don't use a sniper at close range! Don't try for the quirks copes and noscopes until you are more skilled, as doing so will only frustrate you. Ninth, record your games. Simply record a game of you trying to snipe before you start practicing, and a week later record another. Rewatch them and take a look at how you have progressed, and what you still need to work on. Finally, don't give up. Going into this it will seem impossible and frustrating, but if you stick with it it becomes very handy in many situations. Even average snipers such as myself practiced a lot to get here, and it feels awesome. Ask any good sniper if they are happy they started sniping and they will tell you yes, because trust me it is very rewarding.

Don't use high AA snipers they basically give you the heads of your victims. I started with a Praedyths revenge which has a base AA of 20 and dropped it by 10 when I use ambush given that was my favorite scope and it helped me get better.
-
Only use 1000 yard aim assist/oryx sniper

Hereafter, enough said

Check out TrueVanguard's youtube channel. He has a mini series going on how to snipe. Imo he's one of the best in the community at sniping

Slowly walk to my shotgun lol

The lack of "Git Gud" in this thread is disturbing.
hug corners of long hallways, keep at head level, invest in range (linked to aim assist), and get a sniper that fits your play style. High impact low RoF are good for scout/hand cannon users and Low impact high RoF rifles are good for auto/ pulse rifle users
Use a low zoom scope and practice in skirmish. Make sure your sniper has high impact, the 1k state is very easy to get.
-
4 RepliesUse 1000 Yard Stare to start off. The aim assist will help you. Keep using it until you get better, and when you feel comfortable, you can switch to a lower aim assist one (If you want).
-
Use a sniper on every map. The more you play with it the more you will figure out exactly where you can hard scope and have people pretty much run into your reticle. Youll also get better at target acquisition making the amount of correction needed less and less.

Or, *equips shotgun

Aim and shoot...

Remember to stop aiming down the sights and check your surroundings every now and then.
