This should be fairly obvious, using your super on the boss generates not orbs of light for your team, and it doesn't even do that much damage to the boss. Its especially annoying when their are a ton of little enemies spawning all over the place, THEY ARE WHAT KILL YOU!
Raid bosses are a different story
I take this back, I've read a lot good arguments, the main thing that made me post this was playing with warlocks who only use their storm trance on bosses. Very annoying lol

A decent stormtrancer waits for adds to get near the boss and chain lightning them all. Very fun on Taniks.

You forgot #satire.

Funny. When my group does things we coordinate our supers. Boss shows up with large group of adds, Hunter bondage shots them all, hammers crush adds and boss, warlock clears next wave of adds with floaty sparky attack thing. So many orbs everywhere that we all get super back and do it again. It is a near endless supply of orbs and carnage fir as far as the eye can see. Super on boss is a good idea, boss goes down faster= faster end of strike/mission= faster loot.

5 RepliesYeah guys. Do something useful and tether a thrall.
-
4 RepliesPetition for Bungie to make a boss that can only be damaged by supers just to make this guy mad.
-
1 Reply>tether for bosses Golden gun is good for things like hallowed knights Stormtrance for big groups of adds
-
How many replies did it take until you realized how dumb of a statement that was?

5 RepliesLets see... Shadowshot for additional damage per shot. Sunsinger for DoT. WoD for again additonal dps. GG with a Hawk means 6x the super. That's a chunk. FoH for AoE damage. Nova for AoE dps. Stormcaller for add control + boss damage as the dps beats primaries. Sunbreaker for pure damage. Bladedancer... okay I'll give you that one. Besides, why so you need orbs after a boss? Strike/mission over. Done. If it's in a raid, plenty time to get it back.
-
You haven't been playing long enough to tell me or anyone else what to do
-
I promise I won't ever use Shadowshot on a boss again...
-
I'll keep using my hammers and tether and celestial knighthawk shot on bosses but thanks for sharing an opinion.
-
Strikes aren't much of a challenge and sometimes I just dump all I have to kill the bosses faster. It's not like some intricate sequence. Does like a thousand something a tic and long duration. Most supers shouldn't, but stormcaller can be worth while. I wouldn't do it if I didn't notice them dying faster and I usually get adds plus the boss at the same time depending on the strike.
-
Nighthawk should ONLY be used on bosses and majors.
-
You should see what storm trance does to the hydra boss on paradox. looks like he's giggling from all the tickling you're doing to him.
-
Sunspot build for hammers on stationary bosses? Dps for dayzzzzzzx
-
2 RepliesUmm titan bubble and tether.
-
Warlock Main here. Why would you use a Stormtrance on a boss? Sure, damage is nice but I can just shoot the thing with a sniper.
-
Sorry, hunters with celestial nighthawk, tether and bubblebros, gtfo cause OF said so.
-
6 RepliesYeah, but using Fist of Havoc on a boss right when they're about to die is really satisfying.
-
-
2 RepliesStormtrance on bosses? As a Warlock I am appalled!
-
But golden gun can do loads with nighthawk , a Titan hammer can finish a boss off too. Night stalkers bow can make em take a lot of damage too? So why not
-
Umm hunters have that helm 6x th damage? Stalker Tether ftw, titan weapons of light, lock CD reductions grenading fusion in between reloads. Err I'll use my super screw your opinions!
-
It's a good point for Nova Bomb and Fist of Havoc, but other than that you should be hitting the boss with your super or at least some of it if it's a roaming one.
-
So I shouldn't pop my bubble with weapons of light for the boss? Okay. Sorry everyone, but I will only use my bubble for adds prior to the boss fight. You're on your own when we get to the big guys.
