For the third time I'm being forced to play a part of this game that I hate with a passion I can barely understand. I'm trying to get my exotic sword but I have to kill people in crucible to do it. This quest was entirely PVE and story related but for some reason I have to kill guardians in order to upgrade it. This is insane and the most annoying thing for a player who despises your multiplayer. Stop trying to force PVE players to PVP. we don't enjoy it. If we wanted to play your shit excuse for multiplayer then I would go and play it. The only reason I still play this game is the social aspect with my friends and we do not PVP because we hate it. Stope forcing players into doing things they hate. It will extinguish any last flame of hope we have for this game.

15 RepliesI will never understand why PvP players flock to this game. P2P, no leader boards, no balance due to supers and default weapon layouts. On top of that PvP is not even 50% of the game experience. So their paying over a hundred dollars just to keep buying into PvP when each one of those DLC installments barely nods at PvP. Trials of Osiris was the biggest thing to be sold, then locked and resold, in Destiny PvP history. Get a freaking clue guys, this game is not a PvP game. You're buying the big Mac meal just for the fries.

2 RepliesStfu and leave if you don't like it , this is a FPS , dumbAšś
being forced to play
No you aren't. Don't play crucible if you don't want to. But don't expect the rewards that PvP players get from doing PvP.
-
Each questline should have an OPTIONAL PvP or PvE path. That way they're both served. Particularly in regards to the swords which are an essential part of the TTK update. While I can understand their desire to have some specific weapons for PvP and some for PvE, Swords are NOT among those that should be exclusive to one group or the other.

Even if you don't like pvp, at least pvp is an engaging activity. Nothing in TTK has been worse than running around in circles farming materials for the exotic sword. I'll never understand how people can say they enjoy pve questlines like that more than pvp questlines.

9 RepliesIt is a cheap tactic to get people to try crucible who otherwise wouldn't. It also inflates their player report numbers to Activision. Equally as cheap as adding a farming element to the sword quest, and then time gating it to armsday. It's underhanded, slimy, and transparent. The root of why this is done is to keep people logging on . This is why they have time gated quests, a weekly reset, and raids with RNG rewards. To keep you coming back and pulling the slot machine handle.

Nobody is forcing you to play crucible. Nobody is holding a gun to your heading and making you enter crucible.
-
Just like the quest for the Chaperone. First part PVP, second part, either, you just don't get the same percentages for PVE kills. I agree, Bungie has done crappy dealing. Forcing PSPlus on people. Those of you that do enjoy the crucible, sorry, but exotics are hard to come by and you to get them. Maybe Bungie could set it up to choose matches based on whether you are trying to complete a quest line or just plain have fun.
-
You know what you want and you know how to get it. Nobody's forcing you to do it, they're just saying that if you want this reward, this is how you get it. So yeah... Listen to the man.

I agree 1000% PvP for quest is complete stupidity when a quest starts as PvE. It should stay in its starting point.

Edited by Skarpkant: 10/13/2015 7:30:40 AMDid it yesterday on Mayhem rumble. Three matches then it was done. I'm not good at pvp at all, just focus on hitting ppl with the hilt or fire a round and then hit them. Use corners and tight spaces :) Good luck! EDIT: It's not like you loose progress by dying in this part of the quest, just grind it out. Since you dont like pvp, your K/D-ratio shoudn't matter.

Then go for other weapons that don't require PVP participation. Rewards don't come to those that don't try. Learn it and live it.

5 RepliesI am always getting stuck with what seems like PvE players on my team in Crucible because they are just god awful. I'm trying to win ONE game for a quest and I can't because my team is full of morons. Just check my last few control matches. Top on the team if not top on the match but no win because these horrendous scrubs are forced to play Crucible by Bungie for a quest. It's so frustrating
-
1 ReplyPvp players are forced to do pve for almost every weapon.
-
Agree. Need options other than pvp.

Edited by reegeee: 10/12/2015 11:30:01 AMI like the PvP and its annoying for me when I hear you draw your sword at the start of the match. I know straight away we are going to lose. I don't blame you at all because I know you just want it done. It's terrible game design, and literally no one wins.
-
1 ReplyNot even close to the bad part of the quest. Holy hell. Grinding for those rare mats at about a 6% drop rate. Shoot me in my actual face.
-
And having to run around in pve for 3 hours to collect RNG materials isn't shitty? Atleast in PVP you can control the pace of how fast you complete it, its not reliant on luck....
-
7 RepliesStop being a pussy
-
8 RepliesYou aren't being forced into anything. If you want the sword it's a requirement
-
Agreed
-
It's not hard at all, just grind it out like everyone else.
-
Suck it up buttercup.
-
Suck it up who cares, it's their game

1 ReplyThe crucible part of the sword is some bs lol BUT it's part of the game just tough it out sit in a corner and wait for heavy or run around hitting people It's so worth it bro Don't stress it

Read the grimoire cards, shaxx is the main push for swords
