Does Titan Defender need a Buff?
I main a Titan, I tried Warlock but didn't seem to fit me. I find myself getting owned in my own Defender Bubble with "Blessing of Light" + "Saint 14" in Crucible against a guardian with a shotgun. Not trying to whine but wanted to see what everyone else thinks. Thanks for participating.

Defender is the king of PvE and not designed to be as effective in crucible. That being said, I have had a lot of luck with magnetic grenade, weapons of light, and a mid-high impact sniper which will body shot kill. You just need to have high awareness and realize when that Titan is rushing in to use FoH, Warlock running in with Nova, or when you hear the Gunslinger/Bladedancer pop.

Bubbles are like painting a target on yourself, if Saint 14 did what it did in pve I'd be happy, same with flashbangs, armour of light needs boosting a lot and ward of dawn needs to be able to withstand at least one full super, Yes I know a lot of people get kills in their bubble but that's silly people isn't it. A titan danced for me in a bubble, I shoulder charged and shotgunned him, He never danced again

Armor of light + Feedback fence + Shotgun is the best way to play defender imo.

Titan bubbles are game changers if used correctly. The best time to use them is to make sure the enemy/enemies have exhausted their super first. Add armor of light, Helm Saint-14, and Invective and you're set to get so many kills from reckless heroes. Just remember to pop in and out of the bubble fast if you're armor is down.

Use "no backup plan"(no plan B) gauntles. Osiris shotgun blessing of light and u had a overshield for 5hours or so. Defender Titan is a Hard class to play. Look at my Titan and play like me its the besteht way. "TrueVanguard" use this loadout too.

If you're using blessings with blinding you want to bait them through your bubble, so as they step in you step out the back side. That way you won't get panic-shotgunned, because otherwise they can just shoot where they were aiming before they got blinded.

1 ReplyUse Armor of light in crucible. That way nobody will beat you within your bubble. I taste the salt of Bladedancers everytime I shotgun melee them.

Here are some things that have given me success. -weapons of light and sniper = having a golden gun with 4-6 rounds. Icebreaker and no special ammo searching -armor of light is best for rumble and solo in crucible. -most times you don't need illuminated as 25% damage boost can be overkill. More armor and more bubbles with untouchable perk can be better -practice timing throwing suppression grenade as this is currently the only defense to save our bubble -awareness and increased control lift can save you from from a nova bomb or havoc fist. Practice skating. -another tip. Armermentarium and helm with ashes to asset perk, 100 % intellect, and untouchable perk can give you multiple bubbles.

It's unstoppable. My friends and I take 3 Defenders in, and then we have a Voidwalker, a Gunslinger and a Striker - all wearing Crest of Alpha Lupi/Light Beyond Nemesis, all equipped with Bad Juju. As soon as the first Defender gets a super up...well the game is over. Orbs for days all over the place. Ward of Dawns with both armour and blessing of light making you practically invincible. The offensive classes leave the wards, destroy all things, return to the Ward for more Orbs and instant super replenish. And it goes on. Nobody can do anything to stop the madness. No super can get through the Wards before another instantly takes it's place. Then you just move around the map like a Ward of Dawn train. It's an admittedly dirty tactic, but completely within the boundaries of the game. And it's hysterical because the enemy is just helpless. I don't even know what the counter could be. When Hammer of Sol and Stormcaller replace our Striker and Voidwalker....damn, it's gonna be something else. :) :) :)

It needs a pvp buff because: Titan is supposed to be the tankiest and Defender being the most tanky-like subclass it is lackluster compared to a Sunsinger Sunsinger: Better Melee (Flamshield > Force Barrier Tankier (can Survive a Shoulder Charge) Better Super Better Exotics (Ram) Better Nades (Fusion/Firebolt) Ive used both in PvP and I get more k/d with Lock

3 RepliesIf you ask me, armor of light should be active at all times. If you're not running it, all someone has to do is run in and shotgun you once. Running anything else in PvP is pointless.

[i]I do find myself getting kill trades with shotgunners when I'm running Armor, I think the defender just needs more Bubble related exotics. An idea or two: Destroying the bubble sends out a shockwave damaging those near. If hostile you cannot enter the bubble If hostile you take damage while inside the bubble friendly can shoot out of bubble at cost of damage I had more but am quite tired and cant remember, these would be perks on exotic defender gear.[/i]

I main a defender Titan in PvP....no problems with it. Never use Blessings. Never. Weapons is good if you have a high impact sniper, and a pulse rifle. Makes the sniper a OHK to the body, and the pulse a 2 burst kil. Armour is good if you want to lock down an area or to capture a zone. Choose close quarters weapons as you dont want to leave the bubble.
