Getting straight to my point, I think that the spike grenade is by far the worse grenade in this entire game.
-Its extremely slow
-Has a pitiful duration
-Disgraceful damage
-Extremely obvious
At most it serves as an entertaining light show at the end of a match when you are simply waiting for the game to end.
Out of my experience I've seen that grenade used only in the very first months of vanilla Destiny, and anyone who is aware of the meta of crucible doesn't seem to use it. Not once have I seen it used in trials. I am not saying that it's nearly non existent use in end game crucible is proof of it's lack luster properties but a indication.
Alternatively the Nightstalker could receive the suppressor grenade from the Defender subclass which I feel would work more with the new void hunter class "crowd control" like appearance. Please Bungie, reconsider this choice, seeing how TTK isn't out yet I know it is very possible to make this minor tweak to the new expansion.

With Well Provisioned (or whatever it's called now) spike grenade will last double. Pretty good for locking down hallways.
-
At least make an unbiased poll when complaining. I think you should keep it and it should not be buffed.
-
Get rid of that worthless crap all together
-
Agreed... or really, just re-design spike into something useful.
-
2 RepliesDo hunters always want op shit because they're really -blam!-ing bad at this game?
-
9 RepliesQuit complaining.
-
Why isn't there an option for no changes to be made, oh wait, OP is biased.
-
I think a slightly revised tripmine would be a great choice since the nighstalker seems to be a sort of trapper class so something that I can stick in place would be cool
-
Bias is bias Leave it as is
-
Is this really a big issue for you?
-
2 RepliesEdited by Radiicola: 8/26/2015 3:12:08 PMNone, deal with it like us Titans have to and quit whining. I can't believe 58% of you are complaining over that, Titans get shafted all the time Spike grenade is crowd control, which is what you said would fit more, right?
-
Hunters gonna bitch because hunters

7 RepliesEdited by Un1337ninj4: 8/26/2015 5:32:22 AMThe grenades are zoning tools for the Nightstalker, add-in the Well Provisioned talent and the Spike Grenade's damage (400 (4s), only exceeded by the Lightnings' 500, Vortex deals 350 (3.5s). (IPage 7 of the Strat guide) That combined with the Well Provisioned perk increases the Duration and like the other Nightstalker 'Nades is a straight boost to damage and zone control/'round corner elimination. I'm willing to be the new 'Nade won't be as favored as the larger field of damage probably comes at the cost of overall DPS and suffers the same issues minus the part where it ignites on the ground only and is capable of being hurled over.

16 RepliesSo why wluld they take the titans good gernades and give them to hunters, it doesn't make sense
-
20 RepliesI'm a main Hunter. Please, everyone stop judging all main hunters because of this guy. I'm completely fine with what we are going to receive.
-
None of the above. Why the hell should you get the best grenades?
-
Actually it's pretty good in pve.
-
1 ReplySuppressor grenade is the only good grenade Defender Titans have. Hunters have plenty of good subclasses with excellent grenade choices. Let 'em have some crappy grenades for once.
-
I would actually like the axion bolt, before you tear my head off. It still fits the crowd control style of play it has shown. Throwing an axion bolt means 2 things for the enemy. They run or take damage. Meaning come into my zone you either take this damage or flee.

Shut up
-
1 ReplyOr make an exotic for the Hunter that is similar to ahamkaras spine, but with spike grenades, and it allows you to carry another,
-
The spike grenade is pretty good. Use it for a solid 5 games in the crucible, you'll get the hang of it.
-
It's my favorite grenade in the game
-
1 ReplyI use spike grenade to shut down doors, it needs at least double the duration though.
