Getting straight to my point, I think that the spike grenade is by far the worse grenade in this entire game.
-Its extremely slow
-Has a pitiful duration
-Disgraceful damage
-Extremely obvious
At most it serves as an entertaining light show at the end of a match when you are simply waiting for the game to end.
Out of my experience I've seen that grenade used only in the very first months of vanilla Destiny, and anyone who is aware of the meta of crucible doesn't seem to use it. Not once have I seen it used in trials. I am not saying that it's nearly non existent use in end game crucible is proof of it's lack luster properties but a indication.
Alternatively the Nightstalker could receive the suppressor grenade from the Defender subclass which I feel would work more with the new void hunter class "crowd control" like appearance. Please Bungie, reconsider this choice, seeing how TTK isn't out yet I know it is very possible to make this minor tweak to the new expansion.

I like the spike as it's one of the few (only?) grenades that you can't damage yourself with, plus it will synergize nicely with the super that holds everyone in place...
-
I think it should get a buff. Mostly for when I use defender.

The thing screams "look I'll tickle you"

1 ReplyBut the Lightshow of the Spike Grenade is so -blam!-ing Cool *,-* Who cares about Dmg and oher useful shit ?
-
Personally I think we should get scatter nade but far is just me
-
Wat. Spike Grenades are magical.
-
I absolutely love spike grenades. Great for thralls!!! Perfect during crota!! Use them while soloing the abyss
-
2 RepliesOh great another idiot making it easy for the other classes to group all hunters as 'crybabys'.
-
Nightstalker's abilities are based on movement and controlling the map in their favor. Spike grenade is a perfect fit for this
-
No #spikegrenademasterrace
-
How about just get rid of spike grenades in general? They bad.
-
Stfu void wall OP
-
Spike grenades seem too similar to vortex grenades. Not that I care really, I'm going to be throwing walls.
-
From a Class design standpoint, they should keep the Spike but it should be buffed (on Defender too) to slow enemies caught in the Void Light and deal instances of damage at a faster rate. Spike grenade makes sense for Nightstalker as the whole subclass is based on area denial, a suppressor or magnetic grenade wouldn't fit the mould as well.

1 ReplyNo. Welcome to support classes hunters.
-
I think that they should get axion bolt because there is no point in giving the class 3 defensive grenades.
-
1 ReplyWherez the option for them to keep it?
-
Edited by LEAFSreborn555: 8/29/2015 12:17:22 AMOption 4: leave the spike grenade without a buff. Serously you can't have everything....
-
The OCD Elf demands it be replaced with the Scatter Grenade!
-
Suppressor should stay off IMO. It's one of the things that helps make defender Titans more appealing. Spike should jus be buffed because it's terrible in general
-
24 RepliesLol they should make the spike grenade the only grenade available for op's account
-
1 ReplyStop complaining, no one said you have to use it

9 RepliesWhere's the I don't care option?

The damage of Spike is good but it is so hard to use. And also not worth it considering how easy it is to escape.
-
One question. Why?

With Well Provisioned (or whatever it's called now) spike grenade will last double. Pretty good for locking down hallways.
