Getting straight to my point, I think that the spike grenade is by far the worse grenade in this entire game.
-Its extremely slow
-Has a pitiful duration
-Disgraceful damage
-Extremely obvious
At most it serves as an entertaining light show at the end of a match when you are simply waiting for the game to end.
Out of my experience I've seen that grenade used only in the very first months of vanilla Destiny, and anyone who is aware of the meta of crucible doesn't seem to use it. Not once have I seen it used in trials. I am not saying that it's nearly non existent use in end game crucible is proof of it's lack luster properties but a indication.
Alternatively the Nightstalker could receive the suppressor grenade from the Defender subclass which I feel would work more with the new void hunter class "crowd control" like appearance. Please Bungie, reconsider this choice, seeing how TTK isn't out yet I know it is very possible to make this minor tweak to the new expansion.

1 ReplyOf course a Hunter complains about this, never heard a Titan complain about it.
-
4 RepliesIt is a large grenade that acts like a Hive Wizards shroud of darkness. Are you saying a version with even more of a movement and aim restriction is bad?
-
Love my Void Wall grenade.. best grenade ever for my purposes!
-
1 ReplyWith that grenade the super would be almost pointless...
-
3 RepliesThe spike grenade isn't really that bad, you have to be good with it

38 RepliesEdited by 传说中的 Ghost: 8/23/2015 3:52:21 PMWhere's the "No, keep as is" option? No. It's time you Hunters get a feel for what it's like to have 1 reliable grenade out of 6. Edit: To all the Hunter fanboys trying to sell their class short to make themselves look good: Go look at the stats on Destiny tracker, Hunters/Warlocks are the best PvP classes. Sorry, but you just suck if you think Hunters are weak for PvP. http://destinytracker.com/destiny/population Tell me again how Titans aren't the least popular class, least kills per super, least grenade kills etc etc etc. Titans have a second place thanks to Shoulder Charge... But it's nothing compared to Warlocks which has the double amount of melee kills lmfao.

No grenade the night stalker doesn't already have is a better fit. Each grenade chosen was picked to compliment the rest of the kit, a stationary DoT grenade synergies with shadow shot, magnetic and suppressor do not.
-
They aren't going to change an already OP as hell class, and I'm a hunter. It's so OP and it's wonderful, so just deal with the crappy grenade. You should be using void wall or vortex anyways, especially while enemies are tethered and shooting one enemy damages them all
-
Spike is poor for PvP. Fortunately it is much better in PvE...
-
10 RepliesI don't hear you asking for Defender Titans to get a new grenade too. Hypocrite. We live with it, you can live with it too. Honestly... EVERY. SINGLE. SUBCLASS. has one grenade that never gets seriously used. (except Sunsinger maybe... but everybody knows Bungie loves warlocks the most) What a baby crying about a new subclass you haven't even played.
-
2 RepliesI agree. I mean without that 3 bow perk we only get to fire 1 bow while Titans get to fire like 5-6 hammers up Oryx ass
-
1 ReplyNon of the above. Spike grenade is just like lightning. Don't know why people don't utilize it more
-
Tether then spike will be op. It's going to be awesome
-
4 RepliesWhat? It's a great grenade with fantastic range and spread. It's also the only grenade I know of that won't damage you as the user.
-
Spike grenade does the same damage as vortex grenade but has more range. It's good for protecting the spark in rift or aggressively pushing flags in control.
-
Spike is good. You need to know hot to use it.
-
It's gonna be just like the bow. People already think it's game breaking. I bet it's just like a spike grenade and can be shot when it's on the wall to cancel it.

Its the one of the things that keeps defender relevant in crucible Leave it be
-
I used it for thralls in CE good way to make a safe place for teammates, its a support after all
-
3 RepliesIt's called balance. Look at all three classes and their respective subclass and each have abilities that most will not use.
-
The only problem I have with the spike grenade is that if serves basically the same exact purpose as the vortex grenade. This gives the subclass very little versatility in grenades. Overall I don't think it's that bad of a grenade.

20 RepliesSpike grenades are pro. I have no idea what rock you've been under. The lack of use in Trials has zero indication of the usefulness of the grenade in overall gameplay. I see more Strikers than Defenders as it is, so that already severely affects the statistics on that assumption. Personally, I have little love for the Suppression Grenade. While it does have it's uses in the Crucible, I will always prefer Spike and Magnetic. As far as PvE goes though, Suppression is an absolutely, nearly worthless debuff to the enemies. I've never been so severely underwhelmed by an ability in PvE, but that shit has little use. I believe I've heard it affects shield regen, but that's only useful on like 20% of the enemies you have to deal with on a regular basis, and it's still not actually that helpful. You're better off playing Striker and blinding them with the flashbang if you're going to take a strategic route.
-
So you want supers being cancelled in PVP all the time, give them magnetic grenades.
-
Is that the purple torch thing that stick to surface?
-
Dude don't judge the Spike so easily, throw that thing into a control point and everything in it dies.
