Not sure if it has been covered and I don't really want to cover the negative stuff when it comes to the year 1 legendary weapons, poor Vanquisher VIII haha (still have my original one)
I have a Big Question though. Given that the RNG system is being changed so that the same weapon does not drop as often, for example I've had 3 Matadors, still have 2 of them.
Does it mean that they will no longer drop at all (like what is happening with husk of the pit at the moment), or will there rate just drop to a very small percentage? What will happen if we dismantle the weapon, does it take it off the drop table or not, we don't know.
Anybody else thought of this?
edit 1. Just want to mention the husk of the pit issue should now be resolved according to update 1.2.0.5, to claim it please run the fist of crota mission until it drops.
edit 2. The general consensus is that its a good thing to happen and that it would only give us a reduced chance to get the other guns if we have had them before.
edit 3. New article on Game informer website, its a good read and talks a bit about this topic; http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2015/08/12/new-details-revealed-in-our-exclusive-destiny-the-taken-king-hands-on-impressions

If am getting weapons I don't have its obviously I don't want them every HC and FR I get its getting dismantled
-
5 RepliesIt sounds like it'll just drop your chances a little to allow for newer guns to drop. They still talk about getting duplicates a fair bit and using those to "power up" the guns you do use (making duplicates more useful) Why add that if duplicates were super rare?
-
5 RepliesHow could it be worse than the shit rng this game already has???
-
3 RepliesI feel like they made crota somewhat intelligent rng... Even though I still don't have the black hammer. That being said anyone down for normal crota?
-
3 RepliesHow can anyone see this as a bad thing?! I'm looking at you 8%!!
-
1 ReplyI like how even it could make the playing field with others but I think it could also make grinding more of a grind
-
3 RepliesPretty sure they've already stated this "intelligent RNG" would be in the game during TTK, yet here we are. Intelligent RNG is an oxymoron.
-
1 ReplySounds good but I'll believe it when I see it. Bungie have made similar claims in the past.
-
1 ReplyThe quirks have become so endearing now! That said, I'm pissed off by my 27th Truth from the Archon Prick last night. I still need a Gjallarhorn!
-
1 ReplyDestiny is a "loot grind" game. Even Ben (in the latest Game Informer article) admitted this. Every year one player knows this. So, it begs the question..... why would Bungie institute an "intelligent" RNG component to an inherently loot based game? Once the meager content is played, and ALL the weapons/gear are obtained, what exactly is left to play for in a loot grind game?? The "grind" is the main reason people continued to play this game, to get that elusive piece. Without that, what else is this game offering? Actual content perhaps? We can hope.

1 ReplyGood. Nobody should have to grind 3+ months for guns that go obsolete in the next expansion.

GOOD
OF COURSE
1 ReplyLet's say that there are 5 items that can drop. Your first drop, You may have a 20% chance of an item dropping. Now you get another chance, the probability of the item will be reduced from 20%, but it won't go to 0. It may drop to 16%, while the others increase to a 21% chance.

3 RepliesI don't see why they just don't give us bounties tied to weapons and armour, even stat boosting accessories, they could literally turn it into a lore lesson as well
-
11 RepliesRNG by definition is stupid. If they add an "intelligent" element to it then it is no longer random. Just give people rewards for completing activities like every other game known to man.
-
1 ReplyI'm sure that it means after you get it you will have a reduced chance of getting it next time.

2 RepliesYou will just have a reduced chance to get duplicates. But still have a chance at them. Overall, if it works it should be a really good thing. I have been playing since about a week after launch, have had multiples of every RNG exotic weapon except Gjallarhorn, which I still have not had drop. I've basically given up on it. If it comes I will get it from crucible most likely cause I'm not grinding anymore pve until theres new content to play. Shit, people complain that they cant get Hawkmoon, but have a billion ghorns drop from the sky daily. I've dismantled so many Hawkmoons that I lost count.

Shameless self bump.

1 ReplyI'll tell you what. One time I got patience and time 9 times in 1 week. Glad to know it won't happen again
-
1 ReplyThe only RNG based Exotic I need is.... Gjallarhorn. I've gotten 4 damn Hawkmoons and not 1 Ghorn. Hopefully with this new RNG they can bless me with the Ballerhorn

2 RepliesEdited by CHICKENSQUARE: 8/7/2015 1:50:07 AMI think you'll still have a chance at receiving duplicate weapons it's just that the chances will be smaller. Plus I think it will apply more to exotics and raid weapons than to regular legendaries.
