Why don't primary exotics have elemental damage? There should be a way to add elemental damage to exotic primaries. My idea is a material that randomly drops only from lvl 35 poe. Or from going flawless in ToO I guess. It would entice people to put away the ghorn and use more guns. I mean why should I use exotic kinetic primaries when we have good elemental legendaries. Thoughts?

1 ReplyDon't need it. Raid primary exotics are enough

2 RepliesI feel like hard light should have arc damage even if you look at the bullets they look like arc bullets
-
I've always wondered... Why is Hard Light not an arc damage weapon?! The name, the look, the bullets, the way it shoots, everything about it screams Arc Damage! That one just makes sense! But ya, more element damage the better. I wish we could have a chance to have element damage be put on our guns from reforging them.

4 RepliesPersonally, I wouldn't think this would be a good addition to the game. It's not a bad idea at all but it will just mess up PvE at some points. Having an arc damage, for example, for a hard hitting gun like hawkmoon would just take down some majors or ultras in seconds, allowing to make the PvE experience, (one of the best PvE experiences the FPS genre has ever seen) would make the PvE experience much more easier for nightfalls and make it less challenging in general and that what makes Destiny, Destiny. With PvP having a void Red Death, or a void Last Word will make the exotic bounty ( I don't remember which one, sorry) killing guardians with void damage would make it a BREEZE. Overall, if it could apply to legendarys, I'm all for it, but with exotics, It would really do well with the game.

3 RepliesSome exotics are such as thunderlord or truth ghally plan c I think plenty of elemental exotics

Many weapon have the wrong Element on it like the new HOW weapons. A weapon with fallen perk should be Arc and weapon with shank perks should be solar etc.

2 RepliesEdited by Hopeinmo: 6/2/2015 4:36:26 PM(Edit: They should just add elements to the guns period, shouldn't need to re add with an item) I had detailed suggestion for this...(well thought out which should be which) Arc - ( HardLight (or) SUROS ) Hawkmoon Solar - LastWord, RedDeath, Void - BadJuju, MIDA, UniversalRemote, NLB Thorn Underlined need to be in their spots, at minimal,... placed based on Raid weapons exclusions, rest based on spreading out element to class for the exotics. As for the excluded auto, ( between the 2 mentioned ), and MonteCarlo, they should be divided among the other 2 types but I am at a loss as to which should go where.

3 RepliesVex mythoclast solar primary Nechrocasm is an arc primary Both of these weapons are exotics but bungie considered then end game weapons. I have a feeling to get an element in an exotic form for primaries you'll have to do so by beating the games hardest tasks like raids etc.

Edited by ODSTrooper: 6/2/2015 10:34:17 AMHere are some possible ones for each current kinetic damage exotics. Hard light: Arc Suros Regime: Solar Bad JuJu: Void Thorn: Void The Last Word: Arc? Midst Multi Tool: Solar or arc? No Land Beyond: Solar You could obtain these elements similar to the way of ascending weapons.

2 RepliesYes please! I never use exotic primaries in pve and it causes me to really miss out on some fun effects in favor of combat efficiency. It doesnt feel like there's a choice when a shield completely cuts damage in high level activities. Even if you randomly assign elements to exotics. I'd love to see any weapon with 365 always gaining an element at random.

Raid level gear that's the only reason. And it's a good reason at that.
-
2 RepliesHence the word exotic the best not really if I pick a legendary with elemental damage over it but good idea!
-
1 ReplyAll exotics should either deal elemental damage, or deal enough kinetic damage to endanger shielded enemies. No Land Beyond is a good example of a primary exotic that should deal more kinetic energy.

2 RepliesEdited by Megaman: 6/2/2015 8:49:39 AMNice to finally see someone else with this idea. Since, you know, exotic items are the best in the game according to Bungie. I've been asking for this for months.

1 ReplyA suggestion at least? Make it at a cost, add an element to an exotic, at the cost of a portion of you attack (10 points seems fair) and due to tempering of the gun, will require an restart of the weapon. Example Suros Regime 365 Attack Exotic Arc Weapon Core Upgrade Suros Regime 321/355 attack This Weapon causes Arc Damage.
