I once had a controller (Dualshock 3) that squeaked when you pressed either L button. I could never get it to not squeak, but it didn't affect gameplay, so I dealt with it. (Completely unrelated story) I bought a pre-used controller that was modded by whoever used it last. It only showed its true nature in CoD. Whenever you pressed the L stick, your character dove backward, avoiding any fire directed at him. Also, aiming down sights with any sniper rifle resulted in a quickscope and it would fire for you just by aiming. I had a lot of fun with that controller.

RANDOM IDEA: This may or may not break the remote, I have no idea, I have never tried this. But, for bicycles, you can buy a type of chain lube that more or less evaporates, but leaves a film of either wax or teflon on your bike chain. This stuff is often called a "dry lube" because once it dries up, its not a liquid. In any case, the point is that this lube is not messy and greasy, it lasts a long time and it will almost certainly eliminate a squeak for a very long time. I just don't know if it is safe to use on a game controller, but if you like, give it a shot. Just walk into a bike shop and look for "Finish Line" lube, should be 5-10 bucks for a small bottle. It drips out of a eyedropper so its not difficult to apply. Ill put a link to the brands products for your own interest. Get that Wagon Wheel running smooth!

Edited by WileEWolf: 5/4/2015 3:40:56 PMIm on PS4: The R2 Trigger on Dualshock is garbage. It doesn't squeak, instead it doesn't work 1/10 times; and 1/20 times it gets jammed in the 'on' position. I got a warranty for it to get replaced, but I have to mail it out and I cant afford a second remote to use until god knows when the broken original gets sent back to me repaired.

Yes, more on my R2 than my L2.

There are some sensitive ears up in here >_<. My controller doesn't squeak though.

I actually enjoy the squeaking noise

My 360 one does that all the time

Did somebody say Wagon Wheel?! In all seriousness,it happens to me too sometimes.I thought it was just cause I took my controller apart once though.
-
Lmao yeah then I just started pressing it a lot and it stopped

2 RepliesMy LT and RT on my Xbox One controllers do that quite often. I have no idea why, although it bothers me to a point where it can even ruin my performance in a game. Just the feeling, and the noise. It makes me cringe.

My L2 does on one of my controllers. I guess intense Battlefield playing for a year and a half does that...
-
2 RepliesBoth triggers do for me
-
2 RepliesWell i dont play PlayStation so that problem is irrelevant to me because an cbox controller doesnt have an L2 button

1 ReplyMy new one does. It drives me bonkers. My old controller finally died (3 years later) and I go get a brand new one and it sounds worse than my old one. Weird that its not just me though. Darn production company places...

3 RepliesI make her l2 button squeak ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
YES! Thank you someone else realizes this.. I thought I broke the button from pulling it so many times. Doesn't particularly bug me but I would prefer it stayed quiet.

Very.
