Should Prison of Elders be Matchmaking?
So there are many people on this game that tend to not have any friends to play with. I, at one time, would have multiple pages of friends on Destiny but since people have moved on. I know the strike matchmaking system had caused many people to rage on the forums but I have also seen the opposite case as well. I personally have had only a handful of times when someone was AFK or off doing something irrelevant to the strike at all. So my question is would you like to have a matchmaking system for Prison of Elders? It may be end game difficulty but communication is not as essential compared to a raid.
My answer would be why not? It would not hurt at all if you had one extra person even if that person doesn't communicate. If you go in solo, you could end up being matched with a good duo and you will be much better off than trying to do it by yourself. If you have 2 people and the third person is good then that's great help. If not, then there's basically no difference as if u went in just the two of u with no system. And then obviously u go in with 3 people then your all full and good.
The only reason why is see people would be against is to have the opportunity to see how far u can get solo or with one other friend.
Let me know your thoughts...
Edit: If you think it should be optional, why do you think they have they not implemented that for weekly heroics already? Is there something difficult about installing an optional button?
If you said yes/no, do you like to solo most everything you do or do you choose to do everything in a fireteam?

I'd prefer to have the option for matchmaking, so that if I ever want to torture myself with whatever we're suppose to do in there I can do it in peace

I say optional. I would rather just 2 man than 2 man plus one random. But, I want others to have that option if they don't have a regular friend they raid with.

I mean in terms of player efficiency mostly cause communication. What they really need is some form of ingame LFG that similar to LFG.com/.net Where you can be invited based on info you provide. I've never had an activity that i was invited to from LFG where no one had a mic. The VoIP comms make most activities so much easier

7 RepliesI think there should be an option readily available to indicate you want matchmaking, for ANY activities and that includes something as simple as playing a regular main quest mission. This would be something like, you click a few info panels to indicate what you're looking for. Main story/just started on mars/need help. Lower levels can get help that way, it would be simple. Raids, Nightfalls, anything should become matchmaking at the push of a button. Don't want matchmaking, keep it on friends/private session. If you're solo and change your mind later because it's too difficult, initiate matchmaking and bring in 2 randoms to help out. I'm sure they wouldn't mind skipping the beginning anyway. As for the bad apples, not much to do except report them/start over from orbit.

Everything in the game should have OPTIONAL matchmaking imho.

We can't know until it drops... I'm assuming it will be the same difficulty no matter the number of guardians... If that's the case then wouldn't it be better to just have a scrub anyways to take some fire? I have no worries finding ppl to do the nightfalls with, so it doesn't really affect me. If you have two people to do it with, great! Party up and bypass matchmaking... You have one friend, why not just see if you can't find a helpful random? I don't see the problem... But that's just me

i think it should be optional. like have a setting like the auto opt in for voicechat when alone where you can toggle matchmaking on and off.
