Should Prison of Elders be Matchmaking?

So there are many people on this game that tend to not have any friends to play with. I, at one time, would have multiple pages of friends on Destiny but since people have moved on. I know the strike matchmaking system had caused many people to rage on the forums but I have also seen the opposite case as well. I personally have had only a handful of times when someone was AFK or off doing something irrelevant to the strike at all. So my question is would you like to have a matchmaking system for Prison of Elders? It may be end game difficulty but communication is not as essential compared to a raid. My answer would be why not? It would not hurt at all if you had one extra person even if that person doesn't communicate. If you go in solo, you could end up being matched with a good duo and you will be much better off than trying to do it by yourself. If you have 2 people and the third person is good then that's great help. If not, then there's basically no difference as if u went in just the two of u with no system. And then obviously u go in with 3 people then your all full and good. The only reason why is see people would be against is to have the opportunity to see how far u can get solo or with one other friend. Let me know your thoughts... Edit: If you think it should be optional, why do you think they have they not implemented that for weekly heroics already? Is there something difficult about installing an optional button? If you said yes/no, do you like to solo most everything you do or do you choose to do everything in a fireteam?

  • Only if it is a choice. We don't want an in-game LFG, and we all know how well that worked. Whenever I go on there people have no idea what to do and are asking to be carried.

  • I agree with the majority of comments. Matchmaking should be a choice, not mandatory.

  • It should be an option but not mandatory so people can solo it if they want to.

  • Since it's their version of a raid, it probably won't have MM.

  • Well you say communication will not be as important, but we simply don't know if that is true at this point I time. If it is true then matchmaking should be optional. If it's not true then matchmaking shouldn't be a thing in PoE.

    • It should be optional. You can get an afk person or someone that just likes to troll. I wish they would also make the weekly optional too. Hell, it would even be nice with strikes too.

    • YES!!!! MATCHMAKING!!!!! Then the 10 + clan fireteams we send into it will have a better chance of getting rare loot than the un-social people who think this is a single player game (the tools who want to solo everything, lol)

I prefer matchmaking if my friends aren't on to play. People always say that matchmaking will net you bad players, but truthfully, what's stopping you from getting bad players from the forums? People aren't always honest about their level or ability. Plus, people snake checkpoints via forums. I agree that their should be some way to lock down game matches and keep them private to prevent people from joining; for solos, duos, and whatever else.

I'm all for matchmaking as an option BUT I think that there also ALWAYS should be an option to close a party and run it privately, in the event that you want to run a strike or whatever with less than the maximum party size (this is currently a problem with the Weekly, which i always used to duo with my cousin). And let's be honest, an un-wanted third person is sometimes causing problems by simply being there (spawning extra stuff, rushing etc) As for PoE, all for matchmaking there too but I could see MM being a problem IF it indeed is some form of horde mode. That's a gamemode that could take a long time to complete so how are they going to solve it if someone has to drop? Are they just going to replace that person, through a backfill, and how will that work if there are progressional rewards or even an end-reward? I guess the same thing could happen in a Weekly strike but I'm working under the assumption that PoE progression will be siginifically more challenging and the rewards higher tier.

    • No matchmaking. Why? It killed weekly heroic, strikes are terrible with it, and half the time people just afk for the rewards. If PoE has matchmaking, afkers for days, and completion rate will be low for a long time.

      • No matchmaking. Just because I'm sure they made it a 3-man fireteam for those players who didn't feel like looking for a group for a raid and complained about it on the forums... Then bungie decided hmm people don't raid as much maybe cut the team size in half in this mode to get those players to participate in it.. Just my view on it
