Am I the only one who hates when Gally gets used on Atheon?
He just moves around way too damn much and the High Dps snipers always miss the crits....Just grab a sniper does more dmg then your damn rocket same for the grenade throwers

1 ReplyNah. Snipers takes two portals with full team using black hammer. One person each portal using 7 rockets from Gjallarhorn, while the other 5 do nothing at all, and each portal will see half his health gone. So, add the other 5 doing ANYTHING to the one person using Gjallarhorn, and it's still better than all 6 using black hammer. Just my observation from nearly 100 vog hard completions..

3 RepliesI usually only use Gally if we have a couple others with it. The snipers, however, do not match the damage. I've done it a large majority of the time with the whole crew using Black Hammers and Icebreakers, and always have to do at least 2 portals. I've done it in one portal with 4 people using Gally. It really is the best option if you know others with be using it, as well.

If 3 people have gjally and put 7 rockets info him it doesn't even matter what everyone else does

3 RepliesSo basically, if your using gjallarhorn you need at least 4 people, preferably six using all their rockets to down him in the first round, whereas you'd only need 3 people with blackhammer doing 23000 damage per shot to achieve the same as long as no one did explosive damage. I really struggle to see what the advantage of using rockets is. And grenades is just infuriating!

If 3 people are using Gjall than I think it's alright, but it does suck when only one person is and everyone is missing the crit shot.

You know what's really funny.... when everyone agrees to use snipers only and no grenades... and Atheon still prances around anyway. I've noticed this happening a lot lately. On hard mode I don't go to the middle platform with the scrubs who think that's the best strat.... I sit at the back and snipe Atheon AND take out the supplicants. So I have a clear view that no one is rocketing or grenading... but there's Atheon prancing around all over the place... and the scrubs start whining about how they can't hit him. I get such a laugh at that....

i never used gally on atheon even once. i also never sat in the middle shooting at him from a bubble of safety. it isnt hard to kill a few supplicants and atheon at the same time

If there is 4 ppl or more with it then yes, it should be used. If 3 or less then no. Just pull out snipers.

6 RepliesWhat're you talking about? If you have a full team of Gally's on Atheon, he's down in the first run. Way easier than lining up crit shots with a sniper. Oh, he moves around? That's what tracking is for. Hodor.

It's a team fight. Obviously gally does way more damage, but it only works if everybody is using rockets. If my team wants to snipe, I switch out my gally for super good advice, and dominate those oracles.

10 RepliesGally is only better than snipers if everyone has it or at least four people. It's not worth it to use one Gally against Atheon if it means you are practically the only one doing any damage because everyone else is missing their precision shots thanks to him moving around. You need to decide as a raid team if you have enough Gallys to justify making Atheon move.

I usually agree with you... Everyone center, pop relic bubble and snipe. Your an A-hole if you let a rocket off the chain and he starts dancing... Saturday though we were f'ing around and decided to go all Gally on him... Burned him down first relic with 6 seconds to spare...
