For those of you who thing the Exclusion Zone mission is the fastest way to get glimmer, I think you're wrong :) (maybe I just suck at EZ farm)
I discovered a way to max on glimmer in 45 minutes. I'm sure others have discovered it as well, but it's not online.
Now, should I share my big secret? ;))))
EDIT: Hint: Venus (no majors involved, need ether seeds)
Kill 6 enemies with 1-3 ice breaker bullets. (Firefly needed)
Plenty of engrams will drop.
Max on glimmer in less than 45 minutes.
Around 530-620 per minute on average.
EDIT: Ok I'll share:
When spawning in patrol on Venus, go right, keep going until you hit the room that has the servitor. People use it as a loot cave for engrams, but they don't know that if you do it a certain way using ether seeds, it's the fastest way to get glimmer. You need an ice breaker with the ice breaker perk activated. Once you get to that room you kill everyone inside, now instead of running out and jumping up to spawn the enemies (as you'll see in a YouTube video) you instead run all the way back past the crack in the ground and you aim into the back of the room. Once your far enough back the game will think you are out of the section, letting the enemies spawn every 6-7 seconds. Once they spawn you'll see a servitor and a 5 more enemies behind it, you want to headshot a dreg, if you do this correctly you will kill all 6 of them in 1 shot, if not then you need 1-2 more shots to kill a vandal or something that survived. Every time you kill all 6 you get 82-97 glimmer. Once you get the hang of it you'll be killing them (all 6) every 10 seconds.
EDIT: Wow thanks everyone for the replies and opinions on glimmer farming. Clearly everyone has their preferred method. I just thought I'd share my preferred method. Feel free to try it yourself and share with others, or keep doing your way!
EDIT: here's a video
http://youtu.be/yuGL2el1Src
But don't kill the servitor, headshot a dreg.
FINAL EDIT: this farming location has been shared for months on end, Bungie likely already knows, so those of you who are angry, I ask you, why can't we be friends? Why can't we be friends? ;)
Also I will not be replying to anymore posts, it's nightfall time! This wasn't a post to argue, I just wanted to share my "dreg headshot" method!
Thanks everyone for the responses!!! See ya later

Great place to kill vex for glimmer run a circle instead of camp snipe I say this cuz i have a ton of vex money pills but only about 20 ether seeds and imsaving them incase they play a role in HoW like black wax statues did in tdb

4 RepliesHow about the 3 Hive majors under the Cosmodrone? 125 glimmer every 5-7 seconds
-
Hmm never knew about that area. I'll give it a try next time I play.
-
Exclusion zone
-
Sorry but a bunch of people know this already. Have been threads about it
-
11 RepliesFor the record this is slower than the exclusion zone, also the exclusion zone is slower than the gatekeeper cp in vog. Make of that what you will
-
You will eventually run out of ether seeds doing this. If you do exclusion zone you leave with a ton of resupply codes and network keys.
-
Best glimmer farm: Normal Vault of Glass Gatekeeper checkpoint.
-
2 RepliesOnly problem is other guardians.
-
3 RepliesExclusion Zone is still faster, especially for warlocks with obsidian mind. Run to second ship, jump, nova bomb first group, rocket second group, scatter grenade self, done.
-
Been farming that spot since i first opened venus in September... But there are far better spot, first one is on earth patrol...
-
VoG, gatekeeper checkpoint with a polyphage active
-
Run the wakening with IB equipped once you get to first shrieker shoot it kill cursed thralls. Stay at rock before big door way to next shrieker...pop black wax sit and wait. Cursed thralls keep coming. No moving just showers of body parts and about 25 glimmer per pack of them. But they come so quickly glimmer adds up quickly.
-
3 RepliesExclusion Zone is still by far the best for glimmer farming. Even running it solo you can max out very quickly. You can get up to 551 glimmer per run and each run takes about 60 seconds. So we are talking 30 to 40 minutes. This goes even faster if you have a warlock / titan with obsidian mind / helm saint 14 and bad juju. You can literally get your super every single run. Run out to the right to spawn second ship. Fist of havoc / nova bomb all the majors that jump out of ship (400 glimmer in 10 seconds) kill the remaining yellow bars to regen super (20 to 30 seconds) rinse and repeat.

I have noticed a marginal difference in glimmer earned from head shot kills and body shot kills. The three hive majors in the train station below the starting area give a small difference in glimmer
-
1 ReplyIf ur only maxing out in 45 mins then exclusion zone is better. I max out in about 30-40 mins tops.
-
24 RepliesEdited by SubnoizeSpartan: 3/10/2015 1:58:11 PMExclusion zone is better. 551 per run. I kill everything using only primary in a min flat. 551x60= 33,060 per hour. Which means im hitting the cap in under an hour as well and have the area all to myself. Everyone who tries to debate me is using underpowered underleveled weapons. Or runs it on one of the harder difficulties. Try it on the first heroic using a high impact scout or handcannon. I mostly use my Demise or one of my The Calling's all of which have firefly. Also leave the Centurion alive not the phalanx. Ive seen sooo many videos where they use the phalanx shield smash to kill themselves. It eats up too much time! Equip an explosive grenade (Incendiary,Fusion, etc.) Let the Centurion shoot you once or twice and grenade yourself. Its so much faster.
-
Interesting. I might try this later.
-
1 ReplyBro, icebreaker doesn't require head shots to explode enemies. It's not firefly, it's ice breaker
-
4 RepliesCan someone comment so I can come back to this ?? Thanks!!!

9 RepliesYou're -blam!-ing ignorant. Stop telling everyones farming spots. THIS is how bungie found the last one you idiot.
