Am I the only one that gets beyond pissed off when someone tells me that I listen to devil worshippers and that no one can understand what they are saying because it's all just "screaming"? It's absolutely ridiculous how ignorant some people can be. I was driving with my drivers Ed teacher yesterday and I heard Metallica come on. So I go, "hey this is my jam right here!" And what my teacher does is completely shut off the radio and tell me that that was satan's cabinet music. This royally annoyed me. I do understand that there may be a band out there of the metal genre that might worship the devil, but I don't know. Although I listen to Pantera, Slipknot, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, etc., I do not for one second believe that any of them influence worshipping the devil. Comment down below your opinion on people like that.

And don’t call me lyrical, Cause really I’m just a -blam!- that’s evil and spiritual. I know some rappers using big words to make their similes curve, My simplest shit be more pivotal Hip Hop > Metal

Your teacher is the real evil one here. You need to stay away from God botherers. Most of them molest kids. Rock on dude.

1 ReplyPeople are ignorant mate I absolutely hate mainstream Rnb and rap music it's just electronic, talentless annoyance! They hear screaming, I listen to the raw emotional power that begs to be heard.
-
In mainstream music, there is really only one genre left.....PoP. Even alot of the new country is....PoP. Autotune, catchy one liners and a couple 2 sentence verses inbetween.

Rock/metal music has more meaning than most rap songs today. Most people listen to music about ass, money and guns and it's so easy anyone can make money and get famous. But not all rap does that, just like rock/metal isn't devil worshiping. A lot of them have deep meaning, even if they mention the devil, lots of people can relate to what they're trying to say. Bands like asking Alexandria, bring me the horizon, and crown the empire would get some hate for being "emo," "creepy," and "devil worshiping," which isn't true at all, there's more talent put into their words, screaming is just a way of expressing themselves.

Been listening to metal/hardcore for about 10 years now, have not found many people that like the genre... To which I say...
FCUK EM! If you complain about not being able to understand it get out of eh earring range and stay the FCUK out the way!
That would have ruined my day.

Like you said there are Metal bands out there that might actually do some sort of devil or satan worship (Mayhem, Deicide, Behemoth.) The funny thing is that this guy has probably never heard of them yet alone ever have been exposed to those bands (unless you count that one time at Barnes & Noble when he saw the cover of a Metal Hammer magazine next to the Playboy he was there to buy.) Also, he is your driver's ed teacher why would he think he should have any say in what kind of music you listen to or that his comment was in any way necessary or appropriate. Everyone has the right to listen to whatever kind of music they enjoy and it doesn't make you any less or more of a person. Whether a band/artist is talented in one way or anther doesn't really matter either as long as you enjoy it. The mainstream music industry has become so polluted that it is just a big popularity contest to see who can make the most money and get the most twitter followers and it sucks. So many people are just mindless music drones who spend no time delving into the depths of what is available to them, they just throw on KIIS FM and sing along to whatever is presented before them. Do yourself a favor and don't be that person and don't write off any 1 type of music just because what is "popular" from that genre sucks. Different music is good for different moods:

I've never had anyone tell me it's devil worshipping music. They don't understand the beauty that is metal.
-
Lady,... you shouldn't be worried about what what people think of your music
-
Except for, Slipknot. They're terrible and worship Satan, for sure.

Cool, music and shit. Awesome, really shittasticle of you to be so passionate about melodious noises and screaming angry men. Really cool. Serious coolness. Cool beans. Cool ranch Doritos. Cool and the gang... Hey, there's music forums and places like... Wait for it... Facebook, where you can tell people who aren't on a destiny forum all about ur cool story about coolness and non cool people.

I love metal, but I also love all kinds of genres. I hate people that are so narrow minded about music. All music should be appreciated somewhat. Takes a lot of hard work and talent. Doesn't mean you have to love Justin beiber or whoever. But that kid has made more money than I'll ever make in my entire life. I can appreciate that. Rap has some terrible lyrics but I still enjoy it. Yes metal has screaming, but try picking up a guitar or drums and playing what they play. Artists and bands have devoted their whole lives to making music. I wish more people would understand that.

13 RepliesI like more of the modern metal than the old. Ghost Brigade The Contortionist Periphery Between the buried and me The list goes on and on and on.

slayer's earlier albums were very satanic. and that was their goal. then they went more anti-religion. slayer is one of my favorite bands of all time, by the way.
-
Oh yeah, Cabinet by Spawn of Possession is amazing, look it it up if you need a new "jam" lol

6 RepliesThe one thing I love about metal is that the people I listen to have actual talent. Kids nowadays wouldn't know what talent is if it hit them dead in the face with all this stupid pop and rap that is nothing but a bunch of auto tune and crude lyrics.

6 RepliesEdited by Null 225: 2/12/2015 2:30:48 PMMan up and listen to Cannibal Corpse and Deicide. If you're feeling adventurous, listen to Cannabis Corpse, a parody of Cannibal Corpse where all songs are about weed, ironically they're just as good as Cannibal Corpse. None of them are actual Satan worshippers, they just take influence from popular fictional books like the Bible and parody it. True Norwegian Black Metal bands, however, are entirely satanic in content and many of the band members are actually practicing satanists.
