Am I the only one that gets beyond pissed off when someone tells me that I listen to devil worshippers and that no one can understand what they are saying because it's all just "screaming"? It's absolutely ridiculous how ignorant some people can be. I was driving with my drivers Ed teacher yesterday and I heard Metallica come on. So I go, "hey this is my jam right here!" And what my teacher does is completely shut off the radio and tell me that that was satan's cabinet music. This royally annoyed me. I do understand that there may be a band out there of the metal genre that might worship the devil, but I don't know. Although I listen to Pantera, Slipknot, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, etc., I do not for one second believe that any of them influence worshipping the devil. Comment down below your opinion on people like that.

Well most metal is good but I've grown out of metalcore. Too much screaming

Although I agree that his response was ridiculous, he could have a) been joking or b) been trying to keep you focused on driving because you're a new driver. I'm just thinking outside the burrito here.

Most metal bands "worship" the devil in that satanic themes look and sound badass and make people uncomfortable. Most metal bands don't even believe in the devil, let alone worship him. And quite a few metal bands are devoutly Christian. It's all just to make badass album art and lyrics

VOLBEAT!

Slayer uses a lot of satanic imagery. Gorgoroth are actually satanic. Most of the swedish black metal bands are legitimately satanic. That being said, who gives a shit? Your driver's Ed teacher sounds like an asshole. Metallica rocks, it's not satanic at all. Most of it is focused on wrongful punishment, child neglect and corruption of the youth by the powerful. Rock on.

1 ReplyPeople hear the screaming. I hear the meaning.

You should have sailed off the nearest cliff while chanting in Latin
-
I just hate the term "screamo".
-
What your teacher did was pretty rude but all in all when people tell me that shit I just laugh at it.

You really shouldn't let the uneducated moron ruin your day. Listen to whatever you want. \m/

I once went to a Christian rock concert where it was heavy - like, the singer was smashing his head into the symbols while screaming and the guitarist broke 2 guitars heavy - the drummer was the calmest one out of the lot and he was double bassing like the drummer from sepultura - Igor Cavalera - which I'm not sure about him, but his brother max (lead singer & guitar) believes in God, is inspired by Christ (as he has sang about in songs they have produced), and has dedicated some of their albums (from sepultura & soulfly) to God - though he has said he doesn't was to be called a Christian because he hates what organized religion has become.

If he works for a public school in US, I would report him for attempting to indoctrinate you and proselytizing his faith. Take the rug out from under that little pecker. Separation of Church and State, bitch!!

Those things piss me off as well.

1 ReplyAlso as 3 inches of Blood says, "enemies of metal, your death is our reward."

Pfft, I listen to Pink Floyd, that in itself gives me the right to say other music isn't deep.

I can listen to any type of music except country(some songs are ok but it's just all the damn same) and metal. Yeah the older stuff is good but all this new emo and/or scream into the mic shit is just stupid as all hell it's the equivalent of this new "hip hop/rap" vital that is drake/minaj, etc. what ever happened to the days when lyrical music was actually pleasant. My main go to music is edm. Has been for YEARS and the raves/music festivals have been a huge impact in my life. And thank god I don't have to worry about someone screaming into my ears to listen to it ;) I like to think of the ravers as this generations hippies of the 70s Not hating on your music. It's your life you enjoy what you will. Have a good one bud

1 ReplySo Youre a metalhead. But you let narrowminded people like that influence you ? Sounds like an EDM type of thinking. Meshuggah and cattle decapitation ftw

3 RepliesMy opinion is this is in the wrong forum section. Something like this belongs in off topic not in destiny.
