I'll keep it short and straight to the point.
Which is better for PvP and which for PvE? Before bothering to level up Sunsinger I'd appreciate some input, as I'm looking to make a PvE build and curious as to which is better for that situation.
Thanks!

Void walker is good for PvP Sunsinger is the BEST for pve

Pve= sunsinger. Pvp voidwalker.

PvP = Sunsinger PvE = Sunsinger Going on 10+ kill streaks by burning people to death is so rewarding :)

2 RepliesThey both have advantages and disadvantages on both PVE and PVP. As someone who favors Warlocks and plays as both, here's my take on it. The Voidwalker is a powerhouse. When used properly, it's extremely effective for PVP and PVE. Although, I have found I tend to prefer it's use in PVP. Survivability is key in both aspects of the game, and the Voidwalkers Energy Drain is a big part of that. If you can knock of most of a players shield before approaching, it is an instant kill. However, I wouldn't recommend rushing. It's better for playing back and closing as a last resort. In PVE, I prefer the Bloom upgrade where all enemies killed by powers explode dealing void damage to nearby enemies. Combined with the axion bolt and shatter upgrade for nova bomb, it's great for groups of enemies. Now, enter the Sunsinger, much more of a support class than the Voidwalker, but, it can be very strong in its own way. Definitely a better PVE option than PVP, although self reviving to exact revenge on the bastard who killed you or to assist you teammates in a firefight is a great aspect, that's where it's PVP usefulness kind of ends. In PVE however, it's an amazing support class. The solar grenade is great for blocking doorways and stemming the flow of clustered enemies. Being able to revive yourself when needed or cool down the recharge of nearby allies powers and your own when radiance is active as well as a flame shield gives it a huge advantage and makes it a powerful ally for any fireteam. In short, it comes down to preference. Each has its own advantages in each area. I switch seamlessly between the 2 as I need them. Try them both out and see what suits you best.

Depends on play-style...I prefer SunSinger.

1 ReplyEdited by Engla II: 2/10/2015 2:10:31 AMVoidwalker, once you get Obsidian Mind, you cant really let it go and when you receive Bad JuJu, you wont actually let it go. You'll feel naked and uncomfortable without your Nova Bomb.. Overpowered PvE combo. Imagine Nova Bomb every 1-3 minute? yeah, mmm, yeah
-
Thanks everyone for their input! As of now I will be using Sunsinger for my PvE needs, unless I happen upon Obsidian Mind and finally get an exotic bounty for Bad Juju (@jaxzmode for combo & everyone else for such great info!)

I never touch voidwalker except hard mode CROTA because of the life steal for health. I run sunsinger with Voidfang and fusion grenade in Pvp as every time I spawn I get 2 heat seeking one shot grenades. Sunsinger in PVE with starfire protocol and the ignite perk on fusion grenades that way I get 2 fusions that one shot most mobs and then burn them for a lot of damag
-
4 RepliesI really only ever use sunsinger in nightfall (unless it's straight void burn) and at Crota on hard mode.

Both.

Nova bomb players on crucible And come back to life for pve

Pvp void Pve sun Pvp is a fast game and being able to kill multiple enemies with one hit is very important. Pve is more tactical and complementing your team is crucial. Being able to revive your self has proven to be very helpful. When you master the raid or strike you can go void. But remember that in a nightfall the Sunsinger is the check point! Hehe

Pve sun singer for self resurrection Pvp void walker more stable pvp special
