1100 hours played NO gjallarhorn WTF!!!
I do all nightfalls, weekly and raids. I have even farmed for hours. I have 3 characters cryptarch levels are 65,20 and 15. Then you have player who have 3-5 gjallarhorns and have played the game less than 200 hours. I have every exotic weapon you can get for XBOX except the gjallarhorn. If you don't want players to have a rocket launch so effective thats fine, but don't have this rocket launcher be the only one in the game with wolfpack rounds.
I like the replies good and bad. For the people that say I have no life 13 years in the military is my life. What do you do for your country?

I think it's a message you should stop playing just saying. Take this from a guy who has every weapon and armor in the game plus I have 3 gjallarhorns and icebreakers. Its just repetitive bullshit

1 ReplyMy theory is this: Every time a player is opening an exotic chest, the system calculate the probability of the Gjallarhorn drop. Than there is an employee sitting in front of a computer reading all player names who could possibly obtain the Gjallarhorn and every time someone have xxX, Xx, ll or some other "special skill indicator" in his name, the employee press a button and a 'drop denied' message pops up. Thank you for serving, if it's true, but honestly getting a Gjallarhorn is not going to make or break the game for you. Just enjoy it. The only time I really even use my gally is during crota, and I mean at crota. I don't even have it on the rest of the raid.

It's random! Why don't you understand this concept? You could play till the end of of time and still not get it. I bet there are thousands more in the same boat but I they don't have this sense of entitlement. Random loot is random. Tough shit.

You can't want it bud. The game knows you want it and are frustrated. I just recently got mine after many hours of torment. It only came my way, when I finally gave up all hope of ever getting one, lol.

It took me 6 months. I play everyday 4-5 hours and lvl 32 all guardians. Hang in there it will happen. I don't do raids I got mine in the Crucible. I only have one and share it at times between all three guardians on the tough strikes. Good luck!

7 RepliesI've got almost 1500 hours into the game, I'm still missing 2-3 exotics that i've been grinding relentlessly to obtain to complete my collection. Those gun's are just eluding me, or rng isn't gonna give em up easy for me. Don't feel bad.

4 RepliesI think everyone has a theory on the "randomness" of this game. Here's mine: when you create a character RNG selects a single or set of items which will be very unlikely to ever drop. If one could catalogue what each player has received I think a pattern would develop. Obviously the players who have the most number of the various exotic items have 3 or more characters, but I believe no one player has all the loot they want. How else can you explain how some players have received "x" exotic item in quantity? You may have 90% of the exotic weapons, armor, shaders or whatever it is, but then you can't get the Husk. The design scheme is quite clear and as discussed in threads referencing "Skinner Box" targets our inherent OCD, driving us to keep playing with the ever fading hope that someday "x" will drop and our lives will be complete. I enjoy the game, it entertains me, challenges me, gives me some social interaction (mostly positive), and distracts me from things in life which trouble me. I am not sure which item(s) will most likely never drop for me yet, and am working on my third character/class. Therefore, I think when my hunter is 30 I may have a better idea whether it's IB, G-Horn, or that cool warlock helm which is God when paired with Bad JJ. Don't worry about the kids or teens who like to catch an attitude with a post or the poster. I am in the same boat as you. Can't get the gally to save my life. Hopefully one day, I simply tell myself that it is one exotic I'll never get.

Feel for you mate, I'm on around 650hrs i think and I just got my first Gjallahorn last night from one of my nightfalls. Thunderlord, Hard Light and Red Death still evade me (should of bought when Xur sold a couple months back)
