Warlock Melee Is Broken

Warlock melee [b]not abilities[/b] has much larger range than all the other classes. It's also a semi AOE, it hits in a [b]area[/b] in front and to the sides of the user rather than just a direction. The area in which the attack takes effect only effects a single person at a given time, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is a AOE (area of effect). The warlock melee is much easier to land hits with. Not only that, the warlock melee has zero travel time, while the blink strike must lunge towards the opponent. Guaranteeing that in a melee battle, not only will the warlock have the easiest time aiming their melee attack. Their melee is guaranteed to hit first. This makes it [b]extremely[/b] easy to use, and instead of it requiring skill, people just spam it. I even see people spam their melee after they have shot a bullet, even if the enemy is already dead, just in case. A warlock even once told me, that he calls his melee, his second shotgun. [b]Base[/b] Warlock melee: longer range + AOE + no travel time = unbalanced Plain and simple. Edit 1: Another problem the [b]base[/b] warlock melee is even more effective and reliable than even the blink strike for the hunter. Which is an [b]ability[/b] with a [b]cooldown[/b]. That is a serious problem that needs to be addressed.

  • Deej this dude is a joke. If warlocks lose their semi aoe longer range melee then titans have to lose their no cooldown 3 seconds run to charge one hit shoulder charge. BOOM. Sorry dude but warlocks have to have something going for them. Hunter and titan have many thing better than warlock. Warlock has nothing special to kill with. We will keep out 2 foot reach melee. Thanx.

    • not to mention they can also gain a shield from a melee HIT and not a kill. Also theyre the only class to have the vortex effect nades which in my opinion are the best nades in game

    • Titans close in when they use their melee from a distance. And the direction is pretty forgiving. I say it's balanced.

        • You complain about the warlocks melee... Yet there is shoulder charge which is 1hko and is almost unavoidable... Play a warlock and you will understand how warlocks have to use that in certain situations, not just run around the map spamming it for fun

            The only thing Warlock Melee needs is a sniper scope on the hand so you can aim it from across the f***ing room, since that's usually the range I get killed by it. :P I don't care, personally, since I use a similar method of killing people as warlocks. Trigger a quick burst to soften up a target, throw my knife into their face for the kill. It's very similar to the "fire shotgun, follow-through with melee" I see a lot of warlocks using only I have way more range. And Titans have to be running at me to get their OHKO Falcon Punch, making them a pretty easy target. I'd say all is pretty well-balanced at the moment.

            • considering hunters have a THROWING KNIFE and titans can shoulder charge i think this is fair you really need to think things through next time if warlock melee gets nerfed because of you i will make sure your classes suffer too.

                Not broken but I feal titan Melee is very underpowered... Hunters you guys lunge forward so it's not so bad against them locks

              • I think every class has something to even it out, the warlock is slower than tits and therefore may need a melee to bridge that gap. I'm not sure though so don't quote me!

                  Warlock melee is slow but has good range. Hunter melee has a dash. Titan melee is fastest (as far as I noticed, could be wrong) and has a slight dash. It's fine. Also, I've never hit more than one with a Warlock melee when I try. I really don't think it's AoE at all.

                                This is a silly post. Of all the things that could be fixed you wanna point out a melee? It may have slightly more range, but doesn't have nearly the abilities to help it that other classes have, hence why it should be a little better than others. If people stopped complaining about minot things that they just don't have much of an understanding on and complained about the things that needed actual attention from bungie, this game would improve much more quickly.
