According to bungie, thanks to the recent bandwidth update for the Xbox One Destiny is capable of running 1080p 30fps. However, no other info was given on what the resolution was before the update - so it is hard to tell how effective it really was.
Unfortunately Kinect is disabled entirely due to this. I would have actually liked to have some Kinect integration as I like the device. Microsoft wasn't kidding about more 1080p games coming soon though.
Don't keep up with playstation news so Idk what resolution that is at but safe to assume around the same. It may have already been announced earlier idk (it'd be weird at this point if xbox got any news first)
Other games
Battlefield: Hardline resolution at 1080p 60FPS

8 RepliesEdited by Legitimacy: 6/11/2014 3:07:15 AMKnowing this shitty excuse of a gaming company they probably took an offer from Sony to make Destiny 30 FPS on Xbox just to make Xbox look less powerful than it really is and then later reveal it's 60 FPS on PS4. Wouldn't put it behind Bungie because they're greedy, uncaring back-stabbers. Wouldn't put it behind Sony because their entire strategy is sleazy PR.

Who. Cares.

3 RepliesXbox One beta will be 720p but at launch Destiny will run at 1080p
-
Here's a novel idea, let console players choose thier settings like in pc games.
-
5 RepliesFPS > Resolution. If they can't have both at 60 and 1080, at least go for the one that makes more sense.
-
7 RepliesI'm so over the frame rate debate. I played the Destiny Alpha and not ONCE did I think 30 fps is hurting this game. The gameplay felt smooth at all times, and there were no noticeable dips even when there was lots happening on screen. For anyone that wants to complain about not having 60 fps, my recommendation would be to sell your gaming console and buy a high end PC. Yes, that means you won't be able to play Destiny at all, but obviously having 60 fps is more important to you anyway.
-
2 RepliesMeanwhile Bungie's old Halo games get the 60fps treatment
-
30 fps? Seriously? I dont wanna be that guy but come on, its 2014...

2 RepliesCan't update the OP any further guys, sorry. It says a admin or moderator has edited it and that I can't mess with it any further. Though I don't see anything that they edited.

Edited by WrathOfTheRoyal: 7/17/2014 10:19:27 PMIn regards to the Kinect, since some troll actually believed the Kinect was disabled and turned into a brick LOL, to further clarify - The developers now have the choice whether to feature the kinect or not. Bungie has chosen not to do so, and is using that extra strength for this very resolution/framerate. External Kinect features such as "Xbox Record that" will STILL work. Only internal features such as Battlefield 4s Lean/Head tracking.

Edited by Sgt Johnson: 7/17/2014 9:08:56 PMI was reading an article a week ago and I believe it stated that the reason why the Xbox One and PS4 took nearly ten years to be released was because that the PS3 and Xbox 360 introduced a breakthrough in technology that even rivaled and maybe even beaten the gaming PC at their time. The Xbox 360 was the first platform to introduced HD gaming while the PS3 was the first to use the BluRay disc and have a built in BluRay player. Ever since the new next gen consoles came out, it probably going to take five or six years for Microsoft and Sony to release successors to the Xbox One and PS4 because it is not that much of a leap for the 360 and Ps3 and the Xbox One and PS4 aren't any competition to gaming PC because they are based off of x86 architecture which are to my knowledge PC's from three or four years ago. So there is no real ground breaking jump in technology.

They say capable not WE HAVE IT RUNNING IN 1080p. Sunset overdrive ? Latest build was 900p dipping to sub 20 fps. Until retail versions are out, don't hold your breath.

18 RepliesI lol at them using 1080p 60fps for Hardline. The story mode might hit that in some places but it XB1 will never hit 1080p 60fps in a multiplayer setting.
-
3 RepliesThe PS4 has been running at 1080p for awhile now.
-
1 ReplyYou sure it 30FPS I thought xb1 games are 60FPS
-
1 ReplyDo I have to unplug my kinect to get 1080p or no
-
5 RepliesI want everyone to understand that it is running at 30fps because they want the old gen to be able to run it. They want both current and old gen to experience the same thing. People are saying dumb stuff like "Xbox can't handle it" or "Bungie doesn't understand that fps is better than resolution". Now do you guys understand.

Edited by H0RSE: 7/17/2014 4:49:37 AM
Halo 5: Guardians beta to be at 1080p 60fps (MCC will also run 1080p 60FPS)
I would think that if there was any game or franchise that MS would say absolutely no-questions-asked had to run at 1080p/60fps, it would be Halo. I would imagine that MS wouldn't even release Halo 5 unless it was able to achieve that benchmark.

22 Replies1080p 30FPS > 720p 60FPS
-
5 RepliesWhen are devs going to learn that fps is more important than resolution? If you can't have both on your crappy console, ALWAYS GO FOR HIGHER FRAMERATE. 720p is fine for consoles if you are struggling for both.
-
27 RepliesMost people cant tell between 30 and 60 fps anyway
-
14 RepliesNowhere in that link did it say thee the H5G will play in 1080p.
-
2 RepliesActually kinect will not entirely be disabled. Only motion processing will be disabled. Voice commands will still be enabled for accessing Xbox one recording, and OS apps.
-
2 RepliesActually Halo 2 Anniversary will not be at 1080 :(

framerate for me all day err day. cod is butter smooth and its great.
