Looks like I'm gonna get banned... (GTA:O)
So earlier today, I pop in my GTA 5 and hit online. I enter a lobby, and about 10 minutes in at the top right of my screen it says "+$186,000,000". I was pretty happy. I bought myself all kinds of nice things. Then, a bounty of 2 billion is placed on me. Naturally, the whole lobby stampeded toward me and I was mercilessly slaughtered. I wanted to join in on the fun, and ended up claiming a bounty of 2 billion that a hacker had created. Just now I've learned that this is considered cheating, and that I was expected to leave the match whenever I saw such behavior. Now, apparently, I'm going to be placed in a cheater's pool for 9 months. Outstanding.
Has this happened to anyone else?

1 ReplyEnding up in the cheater's pool is inevitable for everyone, given the nature of the game. I was in it briefly for destroying several people's cars (they provoked me). It's not that bad, all in all. You just end up with more of the sort of people who tend to do nasty stuff like that. Keep your nose clean in the cheater's pool, and you'll hardly notice you were in it. Just try to avoid games with cheaters/ moders/ hackers by leaving them when you suspect foul play in the future.

I have 9 billion dollars on my character currently. And I've had it for about 2 or 3 weeks now. And I just had it because I claimed 4 bounties in a modded lobby I joined. Their not gonna ban you for it. Don't worry.

This happened to me and if I get banned I am going to form a rebellion, march down to rockstar and destroy them. Who is with me!

There is no avoiding it, unless you just don't play. Basically, Rockstar is punishing people for playing their game. Obviously a lot of people are going to try to get the money, cheating or not, but you can't carpet ban in your game because you failed to prevent a large scale -blam!- up... well you can, but that's what we call shitty customer support.

If you just found out it was cheating what did you think it was before lol. I dont feel bad for ya if you get banned or put in the cheaters pool. Its one thing to have someone give you money that you didnt even know about, its another thing to spend it and then kill for a few billion dollar bounty. Heres what i know for sure. This money thats going around wouldnt be a problem for rockstar except for the fact that its totally taking away any profits from their cash cards. At the end of the day Rockstar is a big company and what do big companies do when people steal from them? They punish.

I read online that's what you're supposed to do...which in itself is bullshit because it shouldn't be allowed to happen in the first place. That being said, I'm going to raise hell if I get placed in a cheaters pool or banned on Xbox Live for something I have no control over.

I was never placed in a cheater's pool, but I'm kind of glad his happened, it makes the game SO MUCH BETTER. Now you can do what you want, instead of having to grind FOREVER.

Rockstar were in way over their heads with GTAO, couple that with a few bad design choices and Cash Cards and you've got yourself a recipe for disaster.

Played the SP, glad I never got into online. Sounds like a shot show. Whenever games sort of rely on people being semi-orderly/ considerate. You know it's gonna be a shit show. And I love how it happens every time

My friend got a bounty of 2 bill on him and he left the game, he created a private game so I could kill him and we split the cash. We had no idea that's cheating. Hope we don't get banned.

I got into a game a few hours ago. Not even 2 minutes in all of a sudden a billion dollars appears in my bank account. And then another billion a few minutes later. Geez...

1 ReplyGot into several lobbies last night and now I have over $500 million with every boat, plane, and military vehicle bought. I'm a level 61 with a tank and a Cargobob(gotta love glitches). Now I have nothing left to spend money on except weapons when I unlock them.
