If you caught it, when he had the menu open to check out his new weapon and to see the progress on upgrading it, there was a box and it had glimmer in it. He had something like 350 glimmer, and needed 50. So based on that, I think glimmer will be something like currency used for upgrades that you earn from kills or certain actions.
Will post pics soon.

6 RepliesPerhaps when you kill a big baddie and he drops loot you gain Glimmer. After all, when they killed that big baddie had dropped a glimmering object on the ground. This could also be the inane ramblings of a sleep-deprived man...

7 RepliesAlright, there is a lot of debate about glimmer. Some people say it is an alien, others currency. Maybe it is both. I think of the fifth race as the mysterious traveler stuff. What I mean is that there is an enemy traveler who produces glimmer. Using glimmer, maybe the other traveler controls our enemies. As for it being used as currency, maybe our traveler makes it too, and that is the basis of our powers.

1 ReplyIf anyone can post a picture of that screen, it'd be much appreciated!

I couldn't post a photo from my phone and I really need to get to sleep, but here is the link to a youtube video of the gameplay. At 7:36 is the screen I mention, and you can see in the weapon upgrade box: glimmer.
