If you buy from canada then there will likely be even more taxes. The only way I know to get a car without taxes is to buy a stolen one or steal it yourself and obviously, neither of those is a solid plan. You may want to talk to a lawyer for any real advice on how to dodge taxes.

... Hiring a lawyer would be more expensive than the taxes. What if I buy the car with PayPal or something? Could I ask the seller to mark the car as a gift or something and I pay him in cash?

I don't have experience with paypal but you can talk to a lawyer without hiring one. Do you know any lawyers or do you know anyone who knows any lawyers?
