one week later, tome of want still bugged
This is looking a lot like the tonic fiasco 2.0

new patch notes are out, the issue still isn't "addressed" - but old act 2 revenant content has been fixed. Where are the priorities? do they even care about keeping people around?

I waited for the new week in case the Tome of Want was fixed or unbugged. I'm stuck on step 3. First box completed, second on 2/3 everyone else in my clan has not had an issue. I finished the ritual after Tuesday's upload, still bugged. Tried another new fresh ritual with crumbling, completed it, still bugged. Abandoned the quest. Did file integrity check. Restarted Destiny 2. Came back, the ritual was reclaimed by the post with forgotten or abandoned quests, only no reset it sat there bugged exactly as before same spot. Deleted Destiny with Steam. Deleted all Program Data, Document, AppData from my computer, did a clean install of latest graphic drivers. Reinstalled Destiny. No change, still bugged. On pc, steam linked, hunter main, did the quest and got it bugged quite early last week if any of this helps. Have tried to see if using the old tonics had an effect have tried with and without them at the same time as the ritual. Thank you for looking into it, its really been annoying. For those not understanding this problem: "Sometimes the Tome of Want: A Primer quest does not progress after meeting Step 3 and Step 4 requirements." Meaning we do the rituals as intended, with the focused crumbling scriptures and the quest never acknowledges the finalized ritual, some of us have done it now dozens of time with different legendary scriptures (and for those on step 4 with the exotic ones) and the quest never acknowledges it. We can still do scripture rituals of desire, ad infinitum and we get the rewards each time we complete the ritual but the quest never proceeds. Thus we are 'stuck' on either step 3 of 5 or 4 of 5.

1 ReplyI don't know if this is the solution but I've managed to finish it last weekend. I played the Nether A LOT on multiple characters. I kept on playing until my Sigil Stones were maxed and then I decided to use them. When I defeated powerful enemies or claimed a boss chest, and see a Tome Of Want Icon drop, I refilled my ritual ASAP. The third slot Ritual Of Desire has an Info icon that says the Ritual will provide like 3 rewards until it ends - And I suspect it's RNG! Yeah, I was confused throughout and I felt vey sluggish once completed.

First box is completed, and i use the exotic scripture, get the rewards… ascendant alloy or exotic engram, but still wont comple and says i still need to receive reward. Ive done it about a dozen times. Gonna stop wasting them until i hear a possible solution at this point.
