But its not being reissued... its literally making armor in the game, that you guys said was worthless, viable again and a reason to go these activities. Moon and Dreaming City have not been touched, and when they finally do something yall -blam!- and moan?

Edited by Yosemite Sam: 1/15/2021 2:22:24 AMYou literally lost everyone saying "But it's not being reused" and reading down blow you trying to use "well other games do it" really? because other games also add a hell of a lot more (actual new loot ) when they go through the process of sunsetting to offset the copy and paste gear/weapons. "But they are getting new perks". Who gives a flying hoot when old loot like adding old season crap as a filler because of their laziness of not putting effort into this game other than the pathetic shop.

Bruh. I know Destiny has a content problem. But the fact that people are being petty about this is the problem
Bruh. I know Destiny has a content problem. But the fact that people are being petty about this is the problem
No, Bungie is actually the problem and Activison proved it with the other studios. How many times is Bungie going to keep lying before they relize we know they are a compulsive liar?
-
Except the armor and weapons we already had from those locations were rendered useless by Sunsetting, and now we have to re-grind, re-infuse, and re-masterwork this gear. People are getting tired of having to re-earn the exact same gear (minus the Horrors Least pulse rifle, which wasn’t mentioned in OP’s post, probably because it was a Nightfall only drop from The Corrupted).

Do yall not get thats what maxing armor is on literally any other game? You grind an activity for hours hoping to get the best roll.
-
I’ve been playing online MMOs since last century.... this has been a concept since then. Gear lasts 6-12 months top and you replace it all with new gear that’s basically the same but with graphical tweaks. People call Destiny a looter shooter. Bungie calls Destiny something like basically a MMO RPG FPS game now. And the loot system shows that. I just don’t understand how people don’t see it and call the game something the company says it isn’t (at least anymore now that they have sole control). Every 3-6 months you have to grind for the best loot in every other MMO. And with everything have a known 12 month life cycle, it’s so easy to just replace a gun or piece of armour as you go when great replacement piece comes up to keep your min/max the way you want. I agree with you anyways.
Do yall not get thats what maxing armor is on literally any other game? You grind an activity for hours hoping to get the best roll.
So we have to re grind our best rolls and that's okay? Sorry but that's not okay.
-
THATS LITERALLY ANY OTHER GAME WITH STATS. YOU TRY TO BEST THEM. DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT MINMAXING IS?
-
Don't speak about min/maxing unless you have multiple character builders, spreadsheets, plans, and outlines for character builds like I do. Most people who care about min/maxing don't have a problem grinding; what they have a problem with is grinding again for stuff they already have. Since everyone likes to say "every MMO does this", I'll give you a bit of perspective. The gear for your class in MMOs is generally set from the outset. You do the hardest content and get the best gear designed for your class (barring oversights). A Mage using a staff and a Mage using a sword/orb with the same total stats will do the same damage. Their Frostbolt doesn't change, their spell cooldown doesn't change, they have the same global cooldown, same range, etc etc. The actual character performance and feel doesn't change. Destiny does not work like this. The "hardest" content doesn't guarantee the best gear. Gear is personalized to suit the way a player wants to play or a build a player wants to create. My Hunter can be completely different from your Hunter because my Hunter uses a Bow/Sidearm while yours runs an AR/Shotgun or whatever. Where those weapons come from can be wildly different -- maybe you got your Shotgun from the raid but the best Bow for my build is a random world drop. Since the spells of a class in an MMO determine how it plays and feels, and not the gear, an MMO following Destiny's model would require its players to re-level and re-grind their skill tree every season. In their world, the equipment is secondary and only affects the numerical value of the spells effects, so they'd have to "sunset" your spell list and force you to get them all back again. Now you tell me. Is re-acquiring your spell list every 3 months just so you can get back to where you were related at all to min/maxing? Is it even something MMOs actually do? I'll feel you find the answer to both of these questions to be the same.
THATS LITERALLY ANY OTHER GAME WITH STATS. YOU TRY TO BEST THEM. DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT MINMAXING IS?
You're either dense or not getting the point. Once you've min maxed on that gear. Would you be fine re grinding that same gear?
-
Then dont grind it lol. Obviously this change is not geared towards you
-
Then dont grind it lol. Obviously this change is not geared towards you
Yeah but if I want to use waking vigil again I have to re grind it. I shouldn't have to.
-
Oh. Welcome to minmaxing. Grinding! Plus getting a good waking vigil roll ain’t that bad. Its literally pure pettiness at this point. If you already have a godroll at this point sure I understand buts its just another HC.
Oh. Welcome to minmaxing. Grinding! Plus getting a good waking vigil roll ain’t that bad. Its literally pure pettiness at this point. If you already have a godroll at this point sure I understand buts its just another HC.
Not really. It's a waste of my time as a veteran to go and get the same gun again to just extend it's lifespan. Give me a break. If it was entirely new loot I wouldn't care.
-
Huh. I guess these types of games dont appeal to you.
-
Huh. I guess these types of games dont appeal to you.
Almost 2K hours in this game. I was fine with grinding for things. But I won't grind a re issue because it's perks changed. It's almost insulting.
-
Many of us already had excellent rolls on the armor and weapons. Now, in order to use the gear we want in the current playlists, we have to re-earn them. I mean, I like Shattered Throne, so the process isn’t an issue...just the pointless necessity of it.
-
Im confused. Is this about the changes or another sunsetting post?
-
Specifically, the reissuing of the Dreamsbane and Reverie Dawn sets, weapons included. Functionally, I understand that once they were Sunset they couldn’t simply allow us to infuse our old gear to the new levels. As a player who invested considerable effort and time into farming my ideal rolls for the Reverie Dawn gear (after having to farm them again from the random roll perk armors they released as when Forsaken launched), I am perplexed as to why the gear (which is from a DLC still being sold by Bungie couldn’t have simply been left in the game as is, drop at the lower levels of non-Beyond Light gear, but still be infused up.
-
It's the same thing. Don't be as useless as Cumwad, please don't.
-
The changes and sunsetting are different things
-
They're the same here. You either don't see it or haven't got the point yet. They reintroduced (re issued) gear that we already had. Gear we should not have to re grind considering it was made obsolete at least a year ago. The problem isn't the re introduction. We had waking vigil already for example. Which is capped at 1060.....but the re issued waking vigil is capped higher. Why the -blam!- can we not infuse our original gun with the same name , model , paint. The only difference is the perks and I'm telling you some of the new ones don't do the old ones justice at all. I'm fine with them re issuing on the premise of giving the new lights more to do. But don't sideswipe your vets in the process. Just let them be able to bring their old ones up to the latest cap and the re issue problem disappears.
-
But its not being reissued... its literally making armor in the game, that you guys said was worthless, viable again and a reason to go these activities. Moon and Dreaming City have not been touched, and when they finally do something yall -blam!- and moan?
We're moaning because it's stuff we already have. Stuff we shouldn't have to spend the same length of time again trying to get what we already have. Had it been brand new you wouldn't be seeing this kind of post from me. But it's not new. You can polish a turd.....it's still going to be a turd.
-
But you’re LITERALLY PLAYING A LOOTER SHOOTER. Loot is part of the game wtf. Godrolls are literally part the grind. This no different then your weapons but making that grind LITERALLY easier and gives people who want to build to the most powerful the ability to do so!

Go play Borderlands you Shrill. Stop trying to spread misinformation and realize Bungie is doing something no other FPS MMo RPG has EVER done. Except wait, the ones that did Got SHAT ON IN TERMS of Sales. Warframe almost died, and only now was players rejoin as Developers stop trying to use the Grind to Replace Story of MMO, or RPG. To have an MMO or RPG you have to have a Story. Loot is cherry on top, and Game Developers have almost gone under when they Confused Story Grind, with th Loot Grind. No one Grinds for the best stats for FUN, they do it when they can afford to lose Braincells. Unless the game has a Matchmaking Service, like Prison of Elders, or the Menagerie. Both were PvE events that could have been improved apon, but was still fun for the fact that we got GOOD loot out of it. It's not about the Loot, it's about Ease of Access to get the Loot through FUN activities that are Polished Mechanically, not just Visually.(as in less bugs,). Bungie is limiting Ease of Access, and limiting Player Creativity, which is the opposite of what players want. Min-Max exists, and players do it for FUN, not to Grind. Luke's idea to use FOMO -Fear of Missing Out, as way to increase the active player count, is actually Insulting to the General Player. And isn't Fun, for Charged Light and War Mind Cell builds are getting harder to make, as gear is disappearing. And other Mods are disappearing make Player Builds non-existent. I dislike Elder Scrolls Online for how Diluted and Weak the In-game Magic is, but I appreciate that they don't Take away gear, they just slowly (sometimes to slow,) update it to be relevent, they have problem with Players be To Strong, because it break the game Code and stop Rendering. Bungie doesn't have that Problem, where the game just Breaks. Bungie is trying to recommit/sell use using the Loot to Replace the Story, as they sell it piece meal. So yes Sunsetting, the Changes Implemented since, NEED TO CHANGE. That's why Sunsetting the TWAB announcements in General are the Same thing. Luke is dragging the game Down, and WON'T listen to the Community like they PROMISED, so yeah people are right to same it's the SAME THING.
