Once I thought my armor was going to be a permanent thing the grind it takes to get ascendant shards was ok. It's ok to grind out another piece of armor that modifies my build at that...even if switching the element on it is punitive. But if every 3 seasons I need to grind out, like what, 1000 enhancement cores to up grade one armor piece, that's wack. Bungie you're going to have to add more to it to the reward even keep us to where it's at now.

Edited by Matthaeus_Shalem: 8/20/2020 11:05:36 PMMy boy, NEVER ACCEPT Sunsetting! It’s the MOST Polarizing/Divisive Issue Bungie has Ever done in D2 in Recent Times! I’ve never seen an Issue that people are Constantly harping on! It’s been going on for weeks since its’ announcement! It’s divided the Community w/basically 60% against it! Vanilla D2 Red War concept & art work from Devs was a step backwards! Nerfing Not Forgotten & Luna’s Howl was REALLY Bad! Sunsetting most of early D2 is like stealing, Bungie calls it “VAULTING”! I Been playing Destiny since 2015 on XBox 360 & I’ve never seen ppl so upset like I’ve seen with Sunsetting! Don’t Ever Accept Sunsetting! Just don’t give Bungie 1 more Cent of your Money until D2’s completely done after 2022-2023 & the whole D2 is on PlayStation Store for $2.99! Bungie doesn’t care what you think! They don’t respect You! 70% of the Artwork in the Environment is a step back from Destiny 1! Don’t pay or play their new game “Matter” either! You’ve seen their Track Record how they disrespect the player base! CEO Pete Parsons & former CEO Jason Jones keep people like Mark Noseworthy & Luke Smith around & look what’s happening to the game! They’ve driven D2 into Hades with shallow story, constant software oversights, & massive death spirals like Sunsetting & Vaulting! Never Accept Sunsetting! D2 could’ve been Spectacular! Now it’s a dumpster fire! Sad for the Employees & Devs. who want to make game better on all fronts but can’t! They’re stuck & have to do what Noseworthy & Smith tell them to do! Tragic, D2 could’ve been Magnificent!

I'm not going to accept sunsetting ever. Unless The Taken King comes out again and our old, old gear gets sunset, I don't want to see it again. It shouldn't be yearly, it shouldn't even be close to that frequent. That doesn't make it fun, it makes it boring and redundant.

2 RepliesI'm sitting on 1300 cores and 88 matterweaves.. Most of the weapons and armor pieces that drop are terrible rolls & arent worth masterworking

Edited by Eternity: 8/19/2020 11:16:19 PMi dont see the problem, right now all i'm doing is farming Collection and doing weeklys and weekly pit boss clear (takes like 8 min to do on 3 charcs if you got cp) i do have 1011 enhancement cores and 163 finest matterwave which makes 163 additional cores. 95 prisms. when lake of shadows is coming back, i'm gonna farm some golf balls, since i only got 2 left. i almsot got new armor on all charcacters. all the resources to upgrade armor is plenty there and not hard to get unless you mastwork the wrong gear

Wait until they start talking about the new season

Edited by tajBADKJ: 8/17/2020 2:04:30 PMGetting the materials to master work armor is way to easy right now and no need to do any NF's. Do the damn gunsmith bounties, super easy and you will build up your enhancement cores fast(I'm at 1956 right now).If you are in a clan do the 5k clan XP,after reaching clan rank 4 you get 7 cores per character per week. Always pick up those easy vender bounties and hit chests/planetary materials(have correct ghost on to easily spot them). Will collect alot of materials fast. Run the pit and check point the boss for 18 easy prisms each week, the armor is getting sunsetted anyways so throw in vault and dismantle when needed, gives 6 enchantment cores and 6 prisms. And finally just buy the shards from the gunsmith,50k glimmer is easy to get in a few hours. Using the correct ghosts and actually picking up the glimmer that drops adds up fast. Also staying out of pvp really helps.

3 RepliesAgreed. Bungie has basically turned the Nightfall playlist into a material farm for masterworking armor. BECAUSE THE GAME CAN'T GENERATE LOOT THAT IS WORTH THE DIFFICULTY OF THE CONTENT. Bungie needs to fix the weapon system so that you have loot worthy of the NF. Then they need to make getting the materials necessary to masterwork gear more accessible. If Bungie wants to reserve the highest stat rolls for the most difficutl content, that's fine. But what they're doing with access to upgrade materials needs to stop.

Edited by Cutover: 8/18/2020 9:08:40 AM1. Just run Pit of Heresy for ez cores and prisms (6 cores and 6 prisms per character) 2. then do master nightfalls for golf balls (Shards) 3. finish daily gunsmith bounties for cores if you've done pit already 4. buy a core from spider once a day for 10 legendary shards do pit once = 6 cores and 6 prisms it takes 3 cores and 3 prisms to do tiers 6, 7, 8, and 9 do a master nightfall and get a little lucky = 1 shard it only takes one per legendary armour piece it is not nearly as bad as you have made it out to be. all you have to do is not buy everything from the gunsmith.

As soon as season 12 starts, season 1-8 gear gets sunsetted... in season 13 season 9 gear gets sunsetted... in season 14 season 10 gear gets sunsetted. Its not an annual thing, its seasonal. Every new season we lose content. Sure we will get "new" stuff too... just get ready for alot of reprised, reskins, and reissued gear. What, you expect bungie can sunset 500 weapons and like 200 pieces of armor and replace it with all new items? I still don't understand how people are fine with Sunsetting. "Every season we will get new weapons and armor though" isn't that happening now though... without Sunsetting? "Sunsetting makes room for new content" but how is it making room for anything when its still in the game, just at a lower power cap? "Sunsetting gets rid of weapons and mods that are too powerful" so why not just sunset those and leave the rest of it alone? "We are sunsetting your armor but you can Transmog it onto the new armor" but why can't I just keep the armor I'm using now? Seems redundant and pointless. "But it gets rid of powerful mods" see the point above^ Sorry, I don't care for Sunsetting and I definitely don't buy into their current vision... they seriously want to pull away from looter shooter and jump face first into action mmo.

3 RepliesFarm The GM NF. Last week I earned over 40 shards and 150 prisms.

Ascendant shards should drop like exotics from any activity...Same with prisms. Higher drop chances on higher level activities is OK. Agree with other posts there are ways to accumulate materials... but they all involve grinding specific activities, not simply playing. NF has become material grinder mode... but only non-match made levels have any real reward versus time. Doing POH simply for prisms is not "Fun". If Bungie is going to continue to tie materials to masterwork, then treat the materials like they used to treat almost everything - Have them randomly drop from any activity or chest. Related: Why is it that the Mods that help complete activities (Enhanced Weapon and Enemy mods) are mostly locked behind the Endgame activities? Especially enemy related mods in Raids. If you can do Endgame without the mods and at lower level - Do you need the mod, other than for something like a time trial? The players that would benefit from a Supreme Nighmare Mod to finish a Master Hunt legitimately, are the ones that cannot get it... Again, no problems having them drop more frequently from those activities, but getting them randomly through regular play might actually enable more players to challenge harder content.

Bungie doesn't need players, they need work horses. Good luck

1 ReplyYou are going about master working wrong if you are spending enhancement cores on prisms. You still have like three months of pit bosses to run, and at 6 prisms a dismantle you’ll be rolling in upgrade materials.
-
I havent accepted weapon sunsetting, let alone armor
-
This right here. At least in D1 when you deconned an exotic you got one or two exotic shards from it. They need to remove the exotic upgrades from legendary gear altogether.

Edited by Unbreakable Patches: 8/17/2020 5:02:51 AMYour first problem is getting prisms/shards through cores as a main way. But yeah. I do agree that there needs to at least be another avenue or two for prisms/shards. Cores are already pretty damn plentiful. Getting them in decent amounts really isn’t too bad.
