I recently ran the Last Wish raid for my very first time, I’m a year one player that chose to come backs me see what’s new, honestly I absolutely loved this raid, I thought it bought a lot great elements together very well. I was with a group that had the patience to teach me and had a blast learning the raid...that is till we got to the riven room...I walk into this massive doorway to see this beautiful room with floating objects and start thinking of the possibilities of how we would run this encounter, I ask them if I can take a look around to get an idea on what we would be doing before the encounter and they said sure. I look around see those 6 plates and think to myself that this is where everything would begin. I expected an amazing final boss moment that would make us split into two teams and have fun mechanics to do as a team, I’m extremely excited on the encounter and say “alright I’m ready, so how do we do this?” And as soon as I finish talking they all look at me and say... “we don’t know, none of us had ever done it the intended way because of the cheese.” My heart sunk, I ask them if they would wanna give it a shot, so we took a vote. It came down to 4-2 for the cheese...I hadn’t been so disappointed in a long time when it comes to video games. This was such a beautiful raid, so much fun to see how each encounter would run and learn to perfect the mechanics, I was blown away by so much of it. But now...now all I feel is cheated, like it was all for nothing, we got our reward at the end but it didn’t feel like I had earned it.
I really wish that bungie would rework this encounter, I remember running vault of glass in destiny 1 on day 1 and me and my fire team were so amazed and shouted at the top of our lungs when we beat the final boss. I just wish that I could have a moment like that again.
(I started playing again just over a week ago and still don’t know how to run the encounter because no one wants to learn when they can just cheese it.)

mechanics suck legit aint nobody got time for that

1 ReplyHow did you do the ogre encounter? If you stood behind it...that is also a cheese.

1 ReplyNobody does the legit encounter because the rewards suck for the effort required. The 1 thing you can get, is an extreme random chance and everything else you can get for free. Even with your cheese, you can get those rewards by yourself in like 5 minutes. Last Wish, for it's beautiful aesthetics, is one of the worst Raids to ever exist and Forsaken itself was overrated, and lacking in content of substance. Mechanically speaking it was a mess, but Bungie tries to hide their mess with "polish". BS is still BS, even if it fakes being pretty.

Edited by Zurreal: 4/29/2020 10:46:57 AMIt's a shame really, doing it without the cheese is actually quite fun. It's a great boss fight.

5 RepliesEdited by BoxOfSauce: 4/29/2020 10:14:51 AMNot really an "issue" with the encounter. The fight can still be done the intended way. If you are mad that players have found a cheesy solution to the fight, I don't know what to tell you. Cheeses have been a part of almost every PvE encounter since D1. Getting pissed at players for being so "entitled" that they don't want to spend 40 minutes to do something that could be done in 5 is just kinda pointless. There are plenty of people that share your mindset, they just aren't on lfg looking for quick clears. I agree that having your first completion of a raid through a cheese feels lackluster, but this is really at the feet of your fireteam, and not a communal issue. If you really wanted to feel the rush of doing it legit, you could've left the team and looked for a group that would do that with you.

5 RepliesTLDR: Please change the encounter because I’m too lazy to LFG or work on a clan

2 RepliesWhy should the encounter be reworked just because you don’t want to cheese it ? If, as you say, everyone is cheesing the encounter then there’s s reason for this. If you want to ‘do it legit’ post up a lfg saying so.
